A Few J.Crew Spring Arrivals

I made a visit to my local J.Crew this evening to see the new Spring Arrivals and took some photos to share with everyone. The catalog had not arrived yet.

This is the Keegan Jacket in White. I wear a size 4 in this, and that is my size in the Maggie Jacket, Cooper Chino Jacket, and Lucille Jacket. I would consider the shape to be more of a Trapeze style, and the fit reminds me a bit of the Andy Jacket from last year. It looks really cute with the cuff of the sleeve rolled up a bit, a fitted tee and the Bistro Pants in Stone. :)
This is one of the new tees and it's currently available in Shell (shown in the photo) and Natural. The shell color of the tee is actually more peachy than the Shell color of the Jackie Cardigan (which I own for comparison)... definitely still pink, but with peach undertones, especially in the flowers. I would personally not consider wearing it with the Jackie Cardigan in Shell because the colors are very different. I take a size Medium which is the same size I have for the Candy Tees. This is Ringspun Cotton and $48. UPDATE: I went back to my J.Crew this morning and retried the tee...I think the Small fits me better in the bust than the medium, and is more fitted through the body. I could wear either Small or Medium. If you are my size but have a large bust, the Medium might be better. This is called the *Ringspun Cotton Rosette Tee*, and it is item #13126B.

Ruffle tank in Shell (same as the above tee)...I take an XS in this one. This also comes in Dark Charcoal/Slate, a Light Gray color, and a Cream color, as well. $44 UPDATE: This is called the *Tissue Rolling Ruffles Tank* item #12667B. THANK YOU ladolcevita for the information. :)
Another new flower tee...I can wear a Small in this one. $45

And another tee...this came in an Ivory color, and I am a Medium in this one. $42.50

This is a Metallic tee with Gold and Pinky/Peach. It also comes in a Silver/Gray combo, and another with Purples, as well. Size Medium again.

The Annie Blouse in what I would call Pistachio Green. This runs big...the size 0 was roomy on me.

Yet another tee...this is slub-cotton, and the sleeves are a little puffy, and in a dressier fabric. Small fit well on this one. It also comes in a Dark Slate color.

This skirt reminds me of the Dark Chambray Swing Skirt...it also comes in Denim, Gray Stripe, and another color of stripes that escapes my recollection. I could wear a 0 in this just like the Spring Dots Nicky Skirt, but would size up to a 2 in order to gain a bit of length.

Another Annie Blouse in Bright Sun and Gray. There is also a skirt in this same color and print. $118

For reference on sizing: I am a size 2 in most J.Crew pants, although I sized up to a 4 on the new City-Fit pants mentioned below. I consistently wear a 0 in tanks and camis, a 2 in the Victoria Ruffle blouse, and a Small in the Kelly Shirt. My sizing in jackets is either a 2 or 4: I wear a 2 in the Ecole, Berry-Trim Astrid, and Donegal Tweed Blazer. I wear a 4 in the Maggie Jacket, Lucille Jacket, and Chino Cooper Jacket. My bust is 34B/C and I am 5'4" with fairly broad shoulders (which is why I sometimes size up in jackets and shirts with sleeves).

FYI: There were come City-Fit pants out on the table which came in basic colors as well as Dark Olive Green and Quartz (Pink). I think they could possibly be the City-Fit Buttery Twill Trouser back again. I have not seen them online yet, but wanted to note that the Pink pair are basically transparent due to the kind of fabric they are. I also think they run a tad small, and I would size up if purchasing them for myself. If purchasing the Ruffle Favorite Tank for myself I would get an Extra Small. The Citrus Lime Ruffle Tank is more yellow than green...almost like a Highlighter pen. Lots of new mini-skirts in various colors and prints. A pink and green cardigan...I think it was a Paisley pattern, but I just glanced at it, so can't be certain. There was also a skirt in the same print. There were more skirts in the same shape as the Lattice Print skirt, but in solid colors.
UPDATE: I called my J.Crew and was told by the SA that the Dark Olive and Pink City-Fit pants I tried on were indeed the Buttery Twill Trousers. Anon @9:34 has also reported that the SA at their store said they are called the Saturday Trouser, and are very similar to the Buttery Twill Trouser except they don't have a long tab across the front button.

GREAT NEWS FOR MANY WHO HAVE INQUIRED: The Cropped Chinos I have shown in numerous sets are back with this current rollout. I saw them in White and Khaki, but more colors should be coming soon. The item number is 13661, but they do not appear to be available online yet.

I didn't see a lot of new jewelry...apparently it is coming in with the Men's Spring line next week. I was also told that the second half of the Spring rollout will arrive next month.

Please feel free to ask questions about any of the items. :)

Is there anything you see that will go on your wishlist? Are you planning to visit your J.Crew to see the Spring Arrivals in person?

  1. The annie blouse reminds me of my grandmothers nightgowns...
The skirt is cute! Thanks for posting the pics, I'm headed to my B&M tomorrow to check out the new additions

  2. Hi FFM! Wow, thanks for the pics and sizing/fabric information!!! This is super useful especially since I have been pondering chinos in quartz! So its not the same fabric between the two cuts?

And the Keegan warrants serious consideration. Love the ruffles. Was the fit really boxy?

I also like the brownish flower tee... oh, looks like we will have some fun choices on the tee front as usual.

But I am beginning to think that the Annie may be disappointing IRL. Not sure whether I like that its fully buttoned and blousey with such a strong A-line shape. But then again, when Slastena modeled it for us (looking gorgeous as ever!), she had the top button undone... that gave it some nice balance I think.

  3. That first tee is too cute! I bet you can do a lot with that one.

  5. Hi FFM! Thanks so much for sharing the info on those new items! How were the prices? For the tee with the flowers in particular?

  6. Hi Gwen and Lolo! You're more than welcome...glad your both enjoying seeing them.

Hello mamacita! The first flower tee is REALLY pretty...it's one of my favorites. :)

Lolo: I think the City-Fit pants that I tried on in the Quartz, or Pink color may be the City-Fit Buttery Twill Trouser with updated colors for this year. If the Cropped Chinos are finally back, then maybe the Buttery Twill Trousers are back now, too.

As for the Keegan: the shape actually reminded me more of a trapeze style, and looks best with a fitted shirt underneath. I preferred the white over the khaki, too.

The Annie is cute, but the collar is not my personal style, although I love the colors it comes in. The body is more fitted than the Elizabeth...more like the Victoria cami.

Hi Ashley! The tee in the first picture was $48. I remember seeing one tag with $42.50 on it, but can't remember which tee it was...more than likely one of the *less embellished* ones. I think the majority of the tees are at $48 though. :)

  7. Thanks for all the previews FFM. It's nice to feel like I'm shopping even when I'm too busy to hit the malls. J. Crew certain made a lot of flower tees this season didn't they? It's probably because of the success of the rose tees last season. I'm glad we got a lot to choose from. I bet that a lot of people are gonna buy early this time around since the rose tees went so fast.

  8. FFM:

Hi there! Thanks for the pics. I too visited my BM yesterday, and saw much of what you did, except for the Keegan in white - which I think I would like very much. I'll have to go back this weekend, as they were literally unpacking the new stuff from racks on the sales floor. I did purchase the ruffle tee in two colors - pink and gray/black because I was worried it might sell quickly. It also comes in cream.
p.s. fla was fabulous - sunny every day - Tampa store had nothing when we were there :( and the outlet was literally, and I mean literally, empty.
So our timing was a bit off.

  9. Thank-you for posting these pics, did you take them in the dressing room?

I hoping to see the Buttery Fit Pants back I missed out on these last year?

The tees look sheer are they?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Also, wanted to mention that the graphic tee's seem to be done in a heavier cotton this season - overall a better quality. I was happy to see that.
I love the first tee you pictured, reminds me of the chiffon tee from last season.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Good Morning ladolcevita! I'm so glad you had such a fun time in Florida! Sorry about the stores, but I'm curious if you saw the Crewcuts at the Outlet, and if so...what do you think?

Did you get the ruffle tank? I think I remember seeing the lighter creamy color, too. I'm going to update with the info...thanks! :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hi casual-crew! Yes, I did take the photos in the dressing room. :)

Alexis had a post about the Buttery Twill Trouser last year: Click Here .

The tees are a little bit sheer, but not transparent. I would feel comfortable wearing them without a cami underneath. :)

  13. FFM:

I don't remember seeing the crewcuts at the outlet, but I did see them somewhere - the tampa store? - or was that the outlet? Oh goodness, I can't remember!!
Yes, it's the ruffle tank, not tee.
I love it - saw it in the lookbook and knew it was for me.

  14. I love the flower tee! It's so pretty. The skirt is something to check out too. After reading all the hassles you & others were going through w/the Chambray skirt last summer I passed on it. Hopefully this skirt will be a nice addition to my closet.

Thanks for taking the time to take pic.'s & post! You either got away alone or your boys are very patient :)

  15. Hi FFM!
thanks for all the pictures of the new items and thank you for checking out the color in the ruffle tank top. it helpded a lot since i am not near a BM store.
one question to the ruffle cami you showed on the picture. it looks oversized. i am xs in the tops, do you think it would be to big?
what color is the light pink? more peachy or true pink?
    TIA

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hi FFM! Thanks SO much for posting pics. As you know, I'm in Pensacola this weekend, so no JCrew in sight :) Seeing your pics makes me very excited to get to the B&M next week!

    Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Oooh...i love the skirt and the new tees. Are the graphic tees with the flowers on them made of the slub fabric? or are they more like tissue tees?

Thanks for posting about these items! I'm so excited!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hi ina! The pink is called Shell, but is more peachy than the Shell color of the Jackie Cardigan. I would call it *Peachy Pink*. I can wear an XS in the Ruffle tank, and normally wear a 0/2 in J.Crew camis and tanks.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Thanks so much for posting all this great info and wonderful pics! Great job!

    ReplyDelete
  20. FFM, thank you for the photos and info. Those new tees seem practically transparent in the photos. Did they look that way IRL as well?

Did you see the silk paisley shell that was in the Look book?

    TIA

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanks so much...no B&M store where I live so I rely solely on the internet store. Love the tees! And the Keegan looks adorable. How is the fit on the Bistro pant? I've been considering those. I usually wear a 0 or 2.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The mens line and accessories will arrive on the 26th!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks for the pictures, FFM! I have to say that I am loving the Annie, especially in the print. I live in the southwest and I love these sleeveless silk tops. They are a godsend in the heat. I am hoping to get a look at the new pencil skirts, too. Did you see any of those?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hi everyone! The tees feel like slub cotton. The tee in the first picture actually feels almost identical to the Seize the Day tee and Slub-Cotton Femme top I have. They feel more substantial than the candy tees, and are slightly sheer, but not transparent. I would feel comfortable wearing them without a camisole or tank underneath for extra coverage.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Thanks FFM! I LOVE the tees, I think I live in J.Crew tees so I will have to pay a visit to my nearest B&M soon before they are all gone! Thanks again... it was wonderful of you to display these photos for all of us to see as well!

    ReplyDelete
  26. and4mynexttrick: I didn't see the Silk paisley shell that's in the lookbook, unfortunately. My B&M doesn't get collection items unless they are a catalog return.

Katrina in WA: The Bistro pants remind me of something the Charlie's Angels would wear, and seem like a cross between the Watson Pant and High Heel Flares. I tried on a size 2, and they fit nicely. For reference, my size 2 Watson Pants are a tad too big, and I take a 27 in the High Heel Flares. HTH! :)

crewcutsworker: THANK YOU for the information!!! :) It's great to hear from you!

Desert Flower: There is actually a skirt in the same print/color as the the printed Annie, but I'm not sure if was a pencil skirt, or not. There were also several skirts like the Lattice Print Pencil Skirt but in different colors...I remember Navy and an Orange/Papaya color.

I also just realized that the Seize the Day tee is actually made from *Ringspun Cotton* but feels very similar to the Slub-Cotton Femme Top I own. :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. UPDATE: I just called my J.Crew to inquire about the items in question. The Buttery Twill pants ARE back, and they were the Dark Olive and Pink pants that I sized up to a 4 in.

The new tees are made from Ringspun cotton/Slub Cotton: according to the SA they are exactly the same thing. I would say the new tees are a bit softer than the candy tees, IMHO. :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. FFM - Thank you so much!!! I love the tees.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I purchased some of these items yesterday. The Annie blouse in citron/grey is fabulous on. I almost didn't try it on, but my PC insisted, I'm glad she did. I unbuttoned the top two buttons. I did not size down, took a 4 like in most jc silk tanks.

I did not like the Keegan jacket on me, but don't normally like a double breasted. There was a twisted cotton "coat" in natural for $168 I snatched up, thinking it might not be around long. It's beautiful, with an almost ruffle like collar, large buttons down the front.

The Tees were amazing. I took a Medium in them, as usual, even the brown/blue flower for $45. The peachy pink flower tee was $48. The ivory large flower was $42.50.

The ruffle tank I bought in a beautiful charcoal grey, I sized down to a small. I wore it yesterday with my bright fuchsia cashmere boyfriend cardi. Too cute.

I was excited the nicky skirt came in denim. It's adorable, and I took a 4 just like in the nicky dots, could have sized down, but liked the length better in the 4.

My favorite purchase by far is the grey/yellow dress pictured on the jcrewaholics 'new spring arrivals' site. It fits like a dream, and at $148, I feel like it's a bargain. I would have paid more I love it so much (but don't tell them!).

    ReplyDelete
  30. THANK YOU cdp, and congratulations on all your new purchases! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. cdp: Thanks for the info on the price of the other tees, too...I'm updating the information now. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. You're welcome FFM, love your site, thanks for all the photos and info!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. BTW, that printed annie blouse is $118. Too high in my opinion, but when the price is reduced, I plan to re-purchase.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Great pics, thanks for all the info FFM!! I'm excited about the new tees and can't wait for the spring rollout to be online.

I'm really looking forward to seeing some of the solid color skirts you mentioned - I was interested in the double serge but wouldn't get much wear out of a wool skirt where I live so I would really like to see some in cotton/linen or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thanks for the pics FFM!
Looks like the Keegan will be a no go for me but I want all the tees!
    The annie print is lovely!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thank you so much for taking pictures and writing such good descriptions for everyone!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Alright...sorry, but here is another update. I called back to find out the true color name of the Printed Annie Cami, which is Bright Sun, and the SA I spoke to was thrilled I had called back because she had misinformed me on the tees earlier. The flower tee in the first pic, as well as the majority of the other embellished tees are Ringspun cotton. The tee with the puffy sleeves is slub cotton, and she verified that Ringspun and Slub are actually NOT the same thing after all. Sorry for the confusion!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thank-you for verifying the difference between the slub and ringspun cotton tees. I always wondered if they were the same or not.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What a fantastic review!!! Thank you so much for posting wonderful pics and providing detailed description. I liked Annie in yeallow/grey combo more then any other Annie. And tees are to die for. I especially like the rose one.
Thank you , thank you again!:)))

  40. Thanks for the photo and sizing info!

A few of the t's and the skirts are on my shopping list!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Did you mention you saw print sweaters? I can't wait to see them. Wish I had a store nearby but no:(

    ReplyDelete
  42. I tried on the Annie and while I would say it ran about a half size big, it is sized with numbers rather than S,M,L so you can get a better fit. I didn't find the fit anywhere near as tent-like as the ruffle blouses of the past few months (Lydia, Piper, etc). My regular size was a bit big, and when I sized down one size it was tight in the bust, fine everywhere else. Of course, I am of a chesty perspective, but hope that helps!

FFM-LOVE your site and your Polyvore outfits!!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I went to my store yesterday (Short PUmp Town Center, Virginia) and bought the brown tee with the lt. bluish flowers (it was $44.00). I also bought a necklace w/flower on it (looks like the flower from the bracelet Slastena is breaking down into charms), as well as a grey sanura dress/skirt.

They did not have that first, adorable flower tee. If they did, I would have bought it for sure!

Thanks for the photos!!! Your store had more than I saw yesterday.

  44. FabulousFM,
thank you SO much for your visual posting today--I drove down to my store and grabbed two of the lovely flower tees--beautiful material, soft colors, lovely flowers splashing across, and they will look delicious under a blazer long before the weather gets hot. [Unfortunately the delightful tees always disappear in my size too soon, so it's pay full price early on or wallow in regrets.]
    Winks.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi Professor! It's so great to hear from you! :) Congratulations on your new tees, too. Which ones did you end up getting, if you don't mind me asking?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love your fabulous blog and designer eye.
I got 14457, cream colored tee with creamy satin flowers stitched quilt-like across the front; then the faded brownish one, #15897 with the splash of circle mini-flowers from upper left shoulder to right waist. They had just put them out Thursday night (I teach all day so couldn't make the lst appearance) and were already getting "picked over." Even the neck "tag" is classy, with the size (M) embroidered on a cotton JCrew tag. [Usually, I have to cut off the yucky paper size tags at the neck.]

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thank you for the pictures! I love your outfits! I just called my store and put two tees on hold. I was giddy when they told me they had the brown and white. I wish they had the peachy flower. Oh well. I live in tees and Jcrew makes the most spectacular tees.

I hope they have the olive pants. I love the buttery twill. I bought a pair of navy on final sale last year and they are divine. Were the pants running big or small? I have noticed some size issues with their pants lately.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hello MamaChaya! The Buttery Twill Trousers ran small for me. I normally wear a size 2 in J.Crew pants, but needed to size up to a 4 for the best fit. HTH! :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Professor, I love your choices! The brown with the blue flowers is one of my favorites, too! :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Another thing worth mentioning: The SA I spoke with earlier today mentioned that the Buttery Twill Trousers are now being offered in a size 00 this year.

    ReplyDelete
  51. FabulousFM:
I also picked up (not on the web) the NEW cashmere cardigan, designed short, with multiple pockets and elbow patches, called, I think "Professor." Looks wonderful with the tees. Outstanding quality of cashmere, much more attractive than the long loose look (although I have and enjoy many of those, as well). Smiles

    ReplyDelete
  52. The pants similar to the Buttery Twill Trouser may be a new style called the Saturday Trouser (according to SA at my B&M). Very similar to last year's Buttery Twill, but no long tab along front button. Haven't tried on, but she said similar fit.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Thanks anon@9:34! I'm going to add that information now...it definitely sounds like they could be the ones. :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Thank you! They may actually fit me. I am a 0 and I have found that many of the new pants/shorts are too big. I actually measured a pair of shorts I bought on-line against the same size, same style from last year and they were an inch bigger in the waist! I am glad to hear that they will be in 00 just in case. If only they would make some shorts in that size. I live in a warm climate. Need shorts, lots of them! I love Jcrew shorts.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Thanks for the great pics and post FFM!

I've not been to the outlet for as long as I can remember. I was wondering if they carry ringspun or slub cotton tees there. Does anyone know or have experience with them?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Amethyst, if you've never been to an outlet, you should check it out. Some shoddy items, some high prices...but I've gotten some incredible deals there on items that are indistinguishable from retail, as well.

    ReplyDelete
  57. FYI: I went back to my J.Crew this morning and will be posting a few more pics in a little while. I retried the Chiffon Shell aka *Peachypink* flower tee, and have decided I can also wear a Small in it. The Small actually fits me better in the bust, but is also more fitted through the bodice. If you are my size, but have a large bust, you may want to consider the Medium, or if you like a slightly looser fit then size up to Medium, as well. :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Just to clarify: I was talking about the peachypink flower tee in my previous post...the actual color name is Shell.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I just got back from my store. I ended up getting the cupcake tank (all the ruffles) in gray. I really wanted the chiffon flower tee but they did not have them in yet. Boo :(

Anyone try on the cotton tank dress, it has ruffles on the shoulders. I forgot the item number. It was really cute and then i turned around and it had this weird hump on the back, it was not flattering at all. I was really bummed because it would be such a great piece.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Hi FFM - do you think the chiffon flower tee has a little more of a scoop neck? It appears that way in the photo. Scoop necks are a million times more flattering on me, I always wish the cute tees had a little different neck line for us larger busted girls. Thanks! Hope they get it in my store soon.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hi lcsmom! I do think the chiffon flower tee is more of a scoopneck...definitely lower than the Candy tees. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Fabulous pics! THANK YOU for posting! I'm dying to know when online will get these items. Do you know? I'm in love with the tank and many of the tees. Too cute! Thanks again! I love your site!

Anyway, do you know when next week is the men's spring line debuting?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hi Jeff! I know the Men's Spring line is supposed to be on the floor this week. *Crewcutsworker* posted that they will be on the floor tomorrow, the 26th. :)

  65. FFM:

That great jacket pictured on top of your blog also comes in dusty rose and dark charcoal - I tried the keegan yesterday and did not like the fit at all. But, I love this faille maisey jacket.

  66. lcsmom:

I bought the chiffon t yesterday - it's definitely more of a scoop neck.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Great pictures! It inspired me to go to my B&M and get the shell chiffon rose tee and the brown one with the grey/white flowers cascading down the front. I love them! I had a feeling if I wanted them, I should get them at full price.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Thank you for the information on the jacket, ladolcevita! I just updated the post with it. :)

Argyle, congratulations on getting the tees! They are 2 of my favorites, and I agree that they probably won't make it to sale.

    ReplyDelete
  69. LOVE the new embellished tees! Thanks for posting, FFM. :) I didn't see much in the spring catalog that screamed 'had to have' so I thought my JCrew card might have a season to catch its breath...apparently not. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  70. Argyle:
Congrats on the chiffon rose tee, I wanted it in the soft pink color and my BM was already sold out of every size but xs. Doubt these will last long in either color. They are pictured in the new catalog and the item no is 13126B for those not close to a BM but might be interested in pre-ordering.

Also - FFM, the ruffly tank is called
'tissue rolling ruffles tank' item no 12667B
I obviously have too much time on my hands today!! Too cold to do anything but dream of spring!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Thanks again ladolcevita! :) Can you tell me the actual name of the Chiffon flower tee in the 2nd picture of this post? TIA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. The chiffon rose tee that comes in natural and shell is called ringspun cotton rosette tee item # 13126B.
The brownish tee with the cascading flowers is not in the catalog.
BTW - there is a silk pleated ruffle tank, item # 13306B - comes in shell, champagne, and slate - that is wonderful! It will be one of the first items I order as soon as it comes on line.

  73. You are welcome. Thanks for the great blog. I love it!!!
