My scarf is black and white but a little different from this one, and my headband doesn't have a bow on it. The shirt is worn under the Jackie Shell.

  1. LOVE this outfit. I would never have thought to put the Jackie shell over a shirt - now I have to have one!!! Thanks for the inspiring outfit.

  3. I know you have made some sets with the Saturday pants. Do you own these pants, and if so, how do they fit? I usually wear a 2P in JC chinos and dress pants

  4. Oh my goodness, your outfit is so cute I could cry! I won't though :) I love the idea of using the Jackie shell over a tailored shirt. Sigh...I wish I could be your friend so your stylishness would rub off on me...I am hopeless sometimes... :)

  5. Does the shell lay nicely, FFM? My Jackie shells tend to be fitted so I always thinking layering something underneath would be bunchy and uncomfortable.

  6. You look so great today! I really need to buy more of the jackies. I always seem to miss when they go on sale. Have a great day!

  8. Thank you elegant_mom, AppGal, musthavejcrew, and Posey! The outfit is also really comfortable to wear, which is ALWAYS a good thing! :)

D: I'm so sorry I can't ever make the heart for your name! I don't own the Saturday pants, but HAVE tried them on and plan to purchase the Mossy Shadow color soon. I can wear my regular J.Crew size in them, which is a 2, but the thigh is a little bit more fitted on me than the 2 of the Chinos. If I size up to a 4 the thigh is looser, but they are a tad big in the waist...wish they made a size 3. ;) When I purchase I have decided to get the 2 and not the 4. I would suggest getting your regular size, especially if the thigh area is not an issue for you. However, if you are getting a lighter color you might want to size up because they are pretty sheer. I hope this helps and doesn't confuse you more. It's so frustrating that finding the right size at J.Crew is such a hassle.

  10. Hi tammylee! The shell does actually lay nicely, but I think the key is to make sure the shirt underneath is slim and fits well. I have on the Kelly shirt which is fitted, so there isn't a lot of extra fabric to bunch up under the Jackie. I also wear my Lame' slim shirts underneath it, and silky blouses work really well, too. :)

  11. Thanks!

[No worries about the "heart." All my friends call me "D" but just the letter "D" is so boring - wanted to add a bit a "pizazz". Lame, I know!]

  14. This outfit is great! I will be replicating the top half for work! Love your style! Do you find the Kelly shirt fits a little bit longer, like slighty below the hip? I love the look of it and it seems like it would be such a versatile piece of clothing.

  21. Thank you again everyone! Have a wonderful Sunday! My 3 and 5 year old boys have had the stomach flu since Thursday afternoon, so I haven't had much time to blog. This outfit is what I wore to the market to stock up on Ginger Ale and saltine crackers.

millie34, the Kelly shirt does hit below the hip, but it's also not too long to tuck in. :)

Thanks Amy! I tied my scarf in a European Loop. Instructions can be seen Here . The site also has guides to tying scarves in many other styles, too. Click Here .

  26. I am hip to the shell over a button down, but how could I forget about wearing over my lame whispers? Thanks for the tip!
