6.25.09: Wearing Today & IRL Pics

6.25.09
6.25.09 by FFM featuring J Crew

Early morning Physical Therapy appointment for my 3 year-old and then errands. The cami is the J.Crew Brushstroke Floral Baby Doll Cami from Fall 2007 that I blogged about back in May and my cardigan is actually from Target. The white jeans are the High Heel Flare from J.Crew, and my shoes are a similar pair I purchased at Kohl's last year. Here are a few RL pics with and without the cardigan.

I love finding great pieces at Target and Kohl's to mix in w/ the j.crew pieces!

    Enjoy your day! :)

  2. You look fabulous!! I am a sahm of 3 and i find myself wearing my workout garb all day long. When do you have time to workout and change into your cool looking self? I need to fine tune my schedule so i can wear my jcrew stuff that hangs in closet. When i go to Target and Jcrew, i'm in my workout outfit!! By the way, i love when you post irl pics.
    love, mel

  4. Hello MMM! Thank you so much! :)

Hi Mel and thank you for the compliment! As for my workouts and dressing in regular clothes...if I am planning to leave the house early in the day, then I do Pilates before everyone wakes up. Then I get cleaned up and ready to go for the day. If I'm staying home, then I get up, get dressed, do my hair and makeup and go about my morning routine. Once my littles go down for naps around noon or 1pm, I then change into my swimsuit and do my Pool workout. After I'm finished with it, I get showered and change back into the outfit I had on in the morning. That way I am still *put together* for my DH when he gets home from work. I know it can be easy to want to stay in your workout clothes all day, but it really doesn't take that much longer to get changed into regular clothes and do hair and makeup...maybe 15 or 20 minutes? It really does make a difference in the way you feel, IMO. If you can do your workout early before everyone gets up then it would be out of the way, and you could just get ready for the day without having to change later on. :)

Hello Gingersnap! Thanks for stopping by! I have always loved putting outfits together and it all just really comes naturally...I can't *not* do it, actually. :)

  6. this is a fabulous outfit, gorgeous browns and whites and pearls! love it!! thanks for the tips, on getting dressed in the am and when to fit in a workout. I am a teacher, so now that i am home full time with my little boy, am curious, too, as to when to "get dressed" in anything other than yoga pants and tanks, haha!!

  7. That outfit looks so ADORABLE on you - a fine example of how Polyvore does NOT do justice to a put together outfit!

Especially love the big pearls! Thanks for your inspirations!

Suzy (having trouble logging in for some reason).

  8. Another good choice!
At first when I saw the top I wasn't sure if I like it or not. The way you put the top together really stand out and turned out beautiful!

  9. I love that top! I have it and had the back opened up and had my seamstress put elastic so it would fit better. I am so bummed I can't wear it now b/c I am breastfeeding and finally have boobs. It is so precious and flattering!

  12. Hi Gigi! Love your comment...I actually think every mom is a superhero. :)

Thank you mrs.anketell! How exciting to get to stay home with your little guy...I'm sure you will love it! :)

Hi Suzy! Thanks for stopping by and for the compliment! I agree that this one is much better IRL than on Polyvore. :)

Thank you The Outfit of the day!

Kristen: Thanks! Isn't this top so pretty IRL? Great idea to have elastic put in the back...I may do that to my new Talitha Patchwork cami. It *just* fits without a lot of breathing room...the elastic could be the perfect remedy. :)

Thank you so much PINK POPPY! I'm thrilled to hear you are enjoying the sets as well as the IRL's. :)

Petunia: Thank you so much! :)

  16. I'm a new fan of your blog and think your outfits are FAB-U-LOUS! Also, please post your arm workout! =D

  17. Welcome Baby Makes Three! I'm so glad to have you here! :) My arm routine right now is mainly done in our swimming pool. I actually walk, jog, do water aerobics, and also use the pool noodles. They are excellent to sit on, so that you are kept afloat to isolate the arms. The resistance of the water is a great weight training alternative, especially when you push AND pull threw the water...it's like double duty on your arms, legs, and it's amazing at helping firm up the lower abdomen, too. I also do Pilates once or twice a week when I'm not able to get in the pool. My arms have been pretty muscular for many years now, but I've noticed my arms and stomach getting more *cut* since I stopped eating sweets and sugar back in March and started concentrating on eating more protein, fruit, and veggies again. I haven't given up sugar completely...I still eat food products that contain sugar, but I avoid things like cake, cookies, essentially sweets, I guess you would say. It seems to have really made a difference, too. If you don't have access to a pool, I would suggest Tae Bo...that's right, with Billy Blanks... remember him? After my first son was born I ordered his videos, got started, lost the baby weight, and developed tons of muscle. It's a fun workout, too. :) HTH! Let me know if you have anymore questions.

  18. threw should be through...sorry!

Forgot to mention that last month I also used a Soy based protein supplement. I made breakfast smoothies with yogurt, fruit, and the protein powder...I think it helped a lot, too. I need to order more of it. I purchased mine online at Nature's Sunshine.

  20. AWESOME outfit! Love that cami - I'm bummed I missed out on it last year. You look fantastic! If you have time, could you please elaborate what kind of workout you do in the pool - I'm at the pool with my 3 boys 4-5 days a week and would love to get in a little exercise while I'm there instead of just reading! I haven't commented in a long while but still check your blog daily - LOVE it and thanks for the great IRL pics!
