*The Basics*: Another IRL Pic

The Basics
The Basics by FFM featuring Prada bags

Here's a RL pic of this outfit. The jeans are the J.Crew Distressed Vintage Slim Jean, and the tank is from Gap. My sandals were purchased at Marshall's for $19.99...fabulous price and extremely comfy, too! This is a simple and comfy outfit for hanging out at home...if I wear it out I'll put a scarf around my neck or throw on a cardi or my Military jacket in case it's chilly wherever I'm going. :)

I don't have a RL pic for the next set yet because the pants have yet to arrive, but I'll be sure to take one once they get here. :)

  4. OT, you know the trick you talked about Polyvore (that I won't mention the details)? I have been doing this for a while. Today I get the forbidden message. Has this happened to you?

  5. Such a simple outfit, but adorable! I love your shoes so much that I bought some yesterday in the gold color. I've been needing a nicer pair of flat sandals and I think these will be perfect. Can't wait until they get here! Thanks for pointing them out to me :) Hope you have a lovely day!

  6. Count me in with the above posters - the most amazing thing about your IRL pic is your arms!! You definitely need to flaunt those, you've sure got them!!

  9. yes, your arms are amazing. you go girl...you look fab!!!! I tried on the Jrew military jacket today and kinda liked it belted with a maxi dress. I got the idea from the SA who looked fabulous wearing it. It's in my shopping cart along with so many other items.

  13. Hello Ladies! Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments and for stopping by!

As for my arms...thank you so much for the compliments! :) As for my routine: right now I workout in our pool swimming, walking, *jogging*, and doing water aerobics. The resistance of the water and *current* works fabulously as a weight training alternative. I also do Pilates once or twice a week when I'm not able to get in the pool. My arms have been pretty muscular for many years now, but I've noticed my arms and stomach getting more *cut* since I stopped eating sweets and sugar back in March and started concentrating on eating more protein, fruit, and veggies again. I haven't given up sugar completely...I still eat food products that contain sugar, but I avoid things like cake, cookies, essentially sweets, I guess you would say. It seems to have really made a difference, too. If you don't have access to a pool, I would suggest Tae Bo...that's right, with Billy Blanks...anyone remember him? After my first son was born I ordered his videos, got started, lost the baby weight, and developed tons of muscle. It's a fun workout, too. :) HTH! Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Leader: Did you see my comment on JCA about the Forbidden message? I got blocked numerous times from J.Crew this past weekend and it took almost 6 hours each time before I could get back on the site...very, very frustrating! Are you allowed back on yet?

AppGal: YAY for your shoes! I hope you like them! If I didn't already have a couple pair of gold flat sandals I would get the RD's, too...that's how much I like them! :) Let me know what you think once they arrive.

  14. Awesome arms! Great outfit. Thank you so much for posting the IRL pics. Now I wish I had purchased the print dress you paired with white pants. :-(

This is OT, but I missed out on the Lulu peep toes in cloud grey and have been searching for a replacement for months. Can you suggest something close to them at another retailers? Thx!

  15. Good Morning Anon @10:23 and THANK YOU!!! I would keep an eye out for the Cotton Medallion Dress because it will probably popback up now and then on the J.Crew website...you just might be able to get it yet. :)

As for the Lulu replacements: I found two pair that are similar...the bows aren't as large, but you could always purchase a bow separately to wear on them. I haven't tried either shoe so I can't say how they fit or if they're comfy, but they do at least look fairly similar to the Lulus. Rocket Dog Women's Memories Ballet Flat and Enzo Angiolini Women's Tiered Skimmer . HTH!

  16. Btw: the Rocket Dog flats would be the Greyhound Thai silk or Dark Grey colors...the link goes to the patterned one.

  17. The jeans are awesome, and you look great in them! I'm afraid of buying matchstick jeans for fear of looking like the teenagers at the mall with SUPER tight jeans. How does this pair fit?

  18. Hi SunnySoCal! Thanks for stopping by! The distressed Vintage slim jeans seem to fit fairly TTS. I completely understand what you mean about feeling like a teenager at the mall. ;) I debated on sizing up so that they would be a tad baggier, but decided to keep my regular size since they tend to stretch out a bit as you where them. The pair I have on are size 27, which is the same size as my High Heel Flare jeans, and equivalent to a size 2, which is what I wear in the Trouser jeans, as well. HTH!
