Miscellaneous

The following are several sets that I've either worn or plan to wear, except for the second one because the Shirred Ruffles tank and Boyfriend chinos are going back...I'm just not in love with them. I'll shop my closet to complete the look, though. ;)

  1. Have you tried the Scout cropped chino? I didn't like the look of BF chinos on me either. The Scout is an entirely different feel. Love your sets FFM, as usual.

  2. Tres cute!!! I love all of the sets...regarding the hairstyle (Kate Moss, I think) that you use in many of your polyvore sets...how do you do this style? Can you do a how to? I love how it looks but not having the best luck recreating it.

  3. Oops - I left this comment in the last post. I love the first 2 sets in particular - so chic! And I like the turquoise top & shorts too. Hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!

  4. I like the 4th outfit but decided that the skirt is a little too short for me. =D Plus I just turned 40 so I kind of feel like I should be wearing something closer to the knee in length. I'm sure the skirt will look great on you like everything else!

  5. Thanks cdp! I haven't tried the Scout chino, but did order the Straight Fit Khakis from Gap with the latest promo they're having. I remember someone on JCA mentioning that they were similar to the J.Crew boyfriend chinos...we shall see...

Hi Jordyn! Thank you so much! For the Kate Moss hair, I have been using a clip *we called them banana clips when I was in HS*, and twisting my hair into a french twist in back. Then I use the clip to hold it into place and mess it up a bit to get the look in the pic. I saw in a magazine that someone is making clips that match your hair now...I'm going to look for one next time I'm at the store. I can try to snap a couple of pics for you the next time I do my hair and email them to you. :)

  7. Thank you 3PP! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July, too!

Baby Makes Three: Thank you and thanks for stopping by! I don't *normally* wear mini-skirts...haven't in years, actually, but I thought this one from ON was really cute. I actually sized up one size so that it sits lower on my hips and ends up longer than my regular size. :)

  8. Jordyn: my hair stylist actually showed me how to do the french twist using bobby pins, but I find the clip to be much quicker, simpler, and looks just as good. :)

  9. Saw the skirt and shorts at Old Navy yesterday and debated getting them. Now that I see your stylings I think I'm going back today :)

  10. Hi! Do you own the Brooks Brother's Safari necklace? I was thinking about purchasing it because it is on sale. Do you wear it a lot? Is it really big? Hard to tell on the site. Thanks!

  11. Hi Stylestance! So glad you like the sets...the skirt and shorts are a great deal, and cute, too! :)

Hi Blondmama! I don't own the Brooks Brothers necklace but have one in a similar style that I wear frequently, but couldn't find a picture of to clip to Polyvore. The BB is a stand-in for mine. Sorry I can't be of more help!

  13. I love all of your sets. I'm going to check ON for the top from the 1st and last sets - I love it. I love the boyfriend chinos - did you size down? I don't like them in my regular size, but down I LOVE them. I'm still hoping for a markdown or promo before I get them, though. I tried on the scout today and didn't like them. I thought the rise was too small - I need to try them on in the next size up.

They didn't have the safari jacket for me to even see IRL. What did you decide to do with yours?

  14. Thanks PFP! :)

Math Teacher: Thank you! The tops from ON are very cute and comfortable, too. I returned the boyfriend chinos but am waiting for a pair from Gap to arrive...I'm hoping they will be a good replacement. I might reconsider the J.Crew pair on sale in the future, but just couldn't keep them at full price. So far I am keeping the Denim Safari Jacket. I was able to get the educator discount applied to it, which makes the price more *do-able*. Oh...I also found out that it is going to be coming out in WHITE, too! That should be really, really adorable! :)

  15. Btw...Ann Taylor Loft is about to make the Teacher Discount 20% instead of 15%...I think around July 15th or so? Isn't that great?

  21. Btw...they come in Regular, Tall, and Petite sizes. It appears as if the link takes you to the Petite, so just click on Regular if that's the sizing you need. :)

  22. I think this link should take you straight to the regular sizes in the shorts...I hope. ;) Click Here .
