My Unbelievable Encounter Update:Biker Behind Bars

I wanted to give another update to the post about My Unbelievable Encounter seen here . Since it happened back on May 1st, I have continued to follow up with the local police department, as well as the detective in charge of my case to make sure they continued to pursue the issue...which they did. So, the week before last my oldest son and I were shown a photo array. We both picked the biker as the man who accosted me and vandalized my Expedition, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The local authorities were then notified and yesterday a little before noon he was arrested by the detective and put in jail. He is claiming *blackouts* due to excessive drinking (no big surprise there), and while he has not confessed to the crime, he is not denying his guilt either, and even inquired about making restitution for the damage to my vehicle. It is more than likely that he has bonded out of jail at this point, but at least now he will have to go to court for the Felony charge and face possible further jail time, probation, and hopefully pay for the damage he caused.

  15. WOW! I am so glad that justice is being served, and that he may be paying to have your car repaired after his vandalization! If he has blackout issues (?!?!) hopefully he will now get some assistance in that department...

  21. math teacher,
I would have overlooked it b/c I would fear he would come after me and/or my family! Would not have pursued it at all.

However, everyone has to do what he/she feels is right so glad FFM is happy with the conclusion to date.

  22. FFM, I'm so glad this thug was hauled into jail and hope he's made to take responsibility for the damage he did to your property. Treatment should also be mandatory for someone like this before they inflict more pain and suffering on the general public. Good on you for not letting this go!

  26. Thank you for sharing that update with us, FFM. I am happy to hear that he was caught and will have to pay for his actions. (Blackouts... really? What a ridiculous excuse. He should have owned up to his own actions.)

I also commend you for following through with this. Especially considering how busy you are, you did not need this additional task.

Hopefully this guy will rethink doing something similar again.

  28. You go girl! Persistence does pay off! I'm really glad you stuck on this and didn't let him get away with it. Hopefully he will learn his lesson and stay out of trouble - or at least stay away from moms and kids (and cars). I hope you can also get some peace of mind now.

  29. I'm glad you followed up and pressed the issue. Hopefully he can get the help he needs or if he's not interested in help then punishment.

  30. Totally missed this earlier - so glad that justice is being served! You have truly done society a huge service by getting him locked up and punished as he deserves.
