“Today I Will Make a Difference” by Max Lucado
Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a difference.
I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving. Today I will make a difference.
I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It’s OK to stumble… I will get up. It’s OK to fail… I will rise again. Today I will make a difference.
I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.
Today I will make a difference.

I am in love with these boots from Target, and my love affair began after styling them in a set for one of my clients. They are the Women's Mossimo Supply Co. Katherine Engineer Boot in Dark Tan seen here at Target.com. Even though they are currently not available online, there is a good chance that your local Target store might have them...mine still does. The website has 53 reviews on the boots with a 4.5 star rating and I have to agree with the reviews...the boots are FABULOUS! They retail for $49.99 and the description on the website is as follows:
* Finish Off Your Outfit with these Tall Fashion Boots
* Brown Leather Upper with Thermoplastic Rubber Outsoles
* 1.75" Faux-Stacked Heel
* 10.5"- High Boot Shaft
* Features Slip On Styling with Square Toe
* Brasstone Grommets, Brasstone Rings
* Pull-Loop, Cushioned Insole for Long-Term Comfort, Non-Skid Tread on Toe and Heel
FYI: I sized down 1/2 size.
I think they are a fantastic *less-expensive* alternative to the Frye Belted Harness boot: Click Here
I plan to wear my Katherine boots with this sweater coat from Old Navy, a winter white turtleneck, and either matchstick jeans or my ON weekend jeans. Click Here for the link to the ON Sweater Coat.
So what do you think? Do you already own the Mossimo Katherine Engineer boots? Are you going to check them out? I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

Growth is the result of responding to change in a positive way.
Many of the things in which we face are not fun.
We all go through hardships, trouble and calamity.
This world is full of adversity and difficult situations.
We must look at each adversity as an opportunity for growth.
You may have had a situation in your own life where you thought that it was all a big waste of time, and energy.
You may be questioning why you ever had to go through what you did.
Well, for every adversity that you go through, there is always the seed of equal or greater benefit.
A seed has to be crushed and broken in the ground before it can begin to grow.
If you have been crushed lately by someone or something, it's time to GROW.
It's time to look for a way to respond positively to this situation.
It may not be easy, but it must be done.
Too many people spend too much time wallowing, and not moving on.
Hold your head high. Rise above the situation.
A new day is dawning. Look forward to a better time.
You have done your best. Forget the rest.
This is growth.
We struggle, we learn, we overcome.

Wearing Today: We had a *cold snap* here so I took advantage of the cooler weather to wear my Marled Wool Cardigan to church this morning. My turtleneck is the Gap UltraFine Turtleneck sweater seen here and it is fantastic. I found a really cute *faux* diamond seahorse pendant, as well as a *faux* diamond horseshoe pendant on sale at Target and have added them to the butterfly charm necklace. Of course I have on my ON Weekend jeans again...I LOVE them. :)
Have a beautiful Sunday!

Hold on to faith;
it is the source of believing that all things are possible. It is fiber and strength of a confident soul.
Hold on to hope;
it banishes doubt and enables attitudes to be positive and cheerful.
Hold on to trust;
it is at the core of fruitful relationships that are secure and content.
Hold on to love;
it is life's greatest gift of all, for it shares, cares, and gives meaning to life.
Hold on to family and friends;
they are the most important people in your life, and they make the world a better place. They are your roots and the beginnings that you grew from; they are the vine that has grown through time to nourish you, help you on your way, and always remain close by.
Hold on to all that you are and all that you have learned,
for these things are what make you unique.
Don't ignore what you feel and what you believe is right and important;
your heart has a way of speaking louder than your mind.
Hold on to your dreams;
achieve them diligently and honestly.
Never take the easy way or surrender to deceit. Remember others on your way and take time to care for their needs.
Enjoy the beauty around you.
Have the courage to see things differently and clearly.
Make the world a better place one day at a time, and don't let go of the important things that give meaning to your life.

I tried to show a better pic of the pockets on the front of the cardigan, but you can just barely make them out in this pic.
Have a great weekend! :)

The sleeves on the blazer are cuffed and the lining that shows is white with light grey stripes that match beautifully with the Imperial tee.
The perfect fit tank is worn under the Imperial tee.
The cardigan is buttoned just under the sardine graphic with 2 or 3 buttons and the bottom 2 are left undone.
The black perfect shirt is worn under the tee. The boots are a nice deep, dark black even though they don't look like it in the set.
And you are worthy of achieving them, no matter what other people think of you, no matter what you have done up to this point in life.
You are worthy of the best.
You are unique, you are special.
You are creative and effective.
You have much value to offer, regardless of what anyone has told you.
And no one can express that value but you.
You are the person who deserves to live your dream.
You are the only one who has what it takes to reach that dream.
If you can see it, if you can imagine it, if you can dream it, you are worthy of reaching it.
And it is possible.
No one will hand it to you.
In fact, you'll strive day and night to reach it.
When you give the best you have, when you refuse to be stopped by the obstacles in your way, when you do what must be done, you'll get what you deserve—a full, rich life that is like no other.
Each day, with your thoughts and actions, live up to the fact that you are the best.
