J.Crew New Arrival: Cailyn Marled Cardi

One of the new arrivals at J.Crew is the Cailyn Marled Cardi. It is 75% Wool, 25% Polyamide and the style number is 20270. The cardigan retails for $128.00 and is only available in stores at the present time. It has a shawl collar, long sleeves, pockets, and is fairly long, covering the hips and upper thigh area. I personally think it is super comfortable and also flattering on the body. I snapped a couple of pics to give you an idea of what it looks like, although I have to say that it does look much better IRL. Btw,you can see the pics closer by clicking on them. :)

I tried to show a better pic of the pockets on the front of the cardigan, but you can just barely make them out in this pic.
Have a great weekend! :)

  1. Thanks for sharing the pictures, info, and review of the cardi! :) I don't remember seeing this one when I visited my b&m on Wednesday!?! I do remember seeing one almost identical to this one at Banana Republic though!! I have been thinking about going back for it and using my 40% coupon on it! :-P

BR had soooo many great cardis (at cheaper prices plus 40% off) that I ended up passing on the J.Crew ones- well, at least for now! I usually end up going back for the JC ones eventually too! ;)

Anyway, great purchase!! It looks sooooo comfy! :) Did you purchase anything else? I'd love to hear!

  4. Thanks for the pics, it is a lovely sweater. As MMM said Banana Republic has a similar one for less money, and you can use your 40% coupon if your store is running that promo. I found the sweater to be itchy so I had to return it.

  9. mary-scott: The BR coupons were handed-out in stores on previous purchases for future use. The actual coupon card consist of four "40% 0ff a full price item"- there is 1 for each Wednesday of the month of October and they are only good in stores!! HTH!?! :)

  10. Hello ladies! Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend! :)

MMM: You should definitely go back to see this cardigan. I really think you will want it once you try it on. I looked online at the one BR has and it is a lot different than this one. My pics don't translate how great the shawl collar and fit of this cardigan are. It looks much better on than the BR cardigan does on their model. I did get the Rick blue and white check shirt...it is absolutely adorable on. :)

Patina: They had the Rick check shirt which I just mentioned, a new black dress similar to the Madeline from last year but with a boatneck collar and wide ribbon detailing at the neckline instead of ruffles. I also saw a coat in a deep aubergine color that I think will be very popular among the JCAs.

  11. Gigi and ABC: this cardigan is even prettier IRL. :)

casual-crew: You should really consider this one...I absolutely love it.

Lake Nokomis: Definitely go back to try it on...I'd love to hear what you think of it when you do. :)

Stacie: it is very comfy and cozy! I love this length, too. :)

Laura: I don't think the sweater is overly warm, even though it looks like it is. You definitely don't have to wait until December or snow to wear it. As soon as we get a cold snap that puts our temps in the 60's I am putting it on. :)

  12. hey ffm - the cardi looks great! do you have any info on sizing that you could share? TIA!

  13. Hi Kater! I purchased the sweater in the XSmall but could have also worn the Small. For reference, I wear the Jackie cardigans in Small but my Corsage cardigan is an XSmall, so it seems that with this cardigan you can either size down for a bit more fitted look or get your normal size and be perfectly ok, too. HTH! :)

  16. Hi FFM, I wore this cardi last night with a black lace cami, black Minnie pants, and JC black patent mary janes from last season. For accessories I wore the heirloom flora earrings, JC big flower ring wig dusty rose stones in the middle (it was retail only), and a dark green stone layering necklace. My DB loved the outfit, I have to admit it's one of my favorites this fall.

  18. Very nice! I was trying on Jcrew ruffle tops and perfect t shirts and needed a cardigan to give me an idea of how they would look layered. I put this on and fell in love! They ran out of XS so I was thinking about phone ordering in the store, but then I remembered that Madewell has a similar cardigan for a bit cheaper *although it's crew neck, not shawl collar. It is made of the same composition, just nylon instead of polyamide. Wonder if that makes a difference? Although, I found the Jcrew one less itchy.

  19. Thanks for sharing! I love love love it! Does anybody know if this was in the Nov catalog or if it will be a B&M only. I really want one but my nearest B&M store is 2 1/2 hours...if's B&M only, I have to use 'find it'
