J.Crew *EXTRA20*

So J.Crew is running another promotion for 20% off Final Sale plus Free Shipping if you spend $150+ and enter the code EXTRA20 at checkout. I have to say I really do not care for Final Sale at all, but I will order if I have already seen and tried an item IRL. So far I haven't ordered with this promotion, but thought I would list some of the items I would consider or already own and like in case anyone is considering an order, on the fence about placing one, or unsure about sizing.

*Please note that sizes are limited on all the sale items, but J.Crew *usually* updates the website each morning (although they have been known to go for a few days without doing it), so there is the chance you can catch your size on a popback. :)

I have this in Ivory in an XXSmall (I'm normally an XSmall) and really like it a lot. I have tried all 3 colors IRL and think they are all lovely, but my faves are the Ivory and Black.

I have this in the short sleeve version and it is lovely...I would consider getting this one.

I have this cami in Black and Pale Wisteria in a size 0, which is my normal size in J.Crew camis these days. These work under a jacket or sweater and will be adorable this Spring/Summer with capris and bermuda shorts.

and it's long sleeved sister the Slim Stretch Shirt. I love both of these shirts and wear the XSmall in them. They are perfect for layering under tees, sweaters, sweater vests, jackets, as well as wearing on their own.

  • Jackie Cardigan. The sale colors are getting limited but this is a great staple piece to have. I think the fit is a bit different this year, as I now wear it in XSmall, whereas my Jackies from last year are all size Small.

  • Silk Ruffle Cascade Jacket. I have this in size 2 (my normal J.Crew jacket size)in the Wild Blackberry color and like it a lot. It's really pretty, feminine, and will transition well into Spring.

I have these in Nickel, Light Khaki, and the Olive color (not online now)all in size 2 and now have to wear a belt with them because they stretch out a lot. The size 0 were tight when I tried them at the store, but as much as they *grow* I think I could possibly have gotten them instead and been fine. The pants are extremely comfy and I wear mine quite frequently. (Btw, I did not like the Warm Blush color IRL)

Are you considering placing an Extra20 order? Have you ordered already? Please feel free to comment. :)

P.S. For the Anon asking about the Stained Glass Cardigan: I will have a couple sets up for you tomorrow. :)

  1. No sale for me at J Crew. There's nothing I have to have.

  2. No sale for me either. I am tempted by the Skimmer pants and the Chambray popover, I wait for the next rollout before ordering.

  4. Hi Gigi and casual-crew! The only thing I'm considering is some jewelry, but the Infinity necklace (which was one of the pieces) was taken out of my cart earlier today, so now I don't even have enough to make it to the free ship amount. Other than the jewelry I pretty much already have everything I wanted to get from the sale section.

Thank you both for stopping by! Have a great day! :)

  5. Hi FFM! I think this might be my first comment, although I love your blog :)

Eh, I think even with extra20 it's a pass for me. My PS just placed an order for me with in-store prices, so I think I may be finished with FS for now. (Note the operative words, "for now." Don't want to be too definitive when JCrew sale is involved ;)

  6. Hi, I love your blog! I am terrible at styling but am trying to get better and am learning a lot from seeing all these pieces styled together, so thank you! I was thinking of ordering the velvet Eden blazer but I have no idea what color to get! I love the Iris but I'm scared I will look like Prince or that it won't be very versatile. I also love the dark slate and black. Any ideas?

  7. Hi FFM!

ok, I need your help :) I've been a JCrew customer for ages, on and off but mostly at the B&M store and at...ouch...full retail...ever since following all these amazing fashion blog Im realizing that waiting for sales and such is the way to go... I get it, if its a " to die for" item that you will wear now then bite the bullet and get now BUT most items you can wait for a sale... so here is my Q :) I saw some *jcrew.com only* items in the recent JAN10catalog that I'd like to get... normally how long will it take for another 20% off everything sale after a new season/collection is made available? And are the *jcrew.com only" items things that normally sell out faster? Any feedback is appreciated :)))

  9. Hi Jess! The Velvet Eden is lovely...I had personally contemplated the Black for myself, but it sold out in my size before I was able to go for it. The Iris is a beautiful color and not as purple as what Prince wore, but I don't feel it will be as versatile as the Dark Slate or Black. If you want to go for longevity I would choose the Black one. What are the main colors you have in your wardrobe right now? Do you have another black jacket that is similar to the Eden already? Those are two things to consider before making your final decision. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

  10. I have a ton of colors in my wardrobe but I usually am drawn to more neutral or muted tones like ivory, gray, champagne, light pink, etc. I think the black is probably the best choice as well, I can picture pairing it with dressy jeans as well as trousers for work! Thanks so much!

  11. Isn't the tiered top in the Pale Wisteria just a breathtaking color.
I absolutely love mine. I ordered a couple things before the FS as fate would have it--FINALLY getting the refined/silk scarf in Warm Wisteria--so I don't care much about the EXTRA20--I'm just super happy to get this piece as I've been covetting it for awhile.

Always great to see what your picks are Ms. Fashionista!

  12. Hi Elizabeth! This is a tough call. Before the holidays the different *sections* of the new arrivals would get the promos, such as when they had 30% off of knits and tees one time, then 30% off handbags another time, etc. Now that it is a new year, I'm not sure how they'll handle it. If I see something online that I like or think I may be interested in once it does go on sale, I go ahead and order at full price so that I can see it IRL first, especially if it is a catalog only item. Then once I get it I make the decision whether or not I love it and want to wear it right away, or if it can wait for sale before I get it (so I then return it). However, since J.Crew has started marking down items so rapidly I often decide to hang on to them for a little while. That way I have the item if I don't catch it on sale before it sells out. If I can get my size though, I reorder it at the sale price (if it's past the 7 days to get the price adjustment). So, I hope I haven't completely confused you. I do think since Final Sale is back it is best to order the items you are interested in at full price to see IRL while you can still return them if they don't work out. :) HTH! Let me know if you have any other questions.

  14. Hi yogagirl! Thank you for stopping by and congrats on your scarf! I saw the post on your blog about you getting it, plus I know how much you've been wanting it, so I am really happy for you! :)

  15. Hi PINK POPPY! Did you try calling J.Crew CS to ask them to apply the 20% to your previous orders? It is hit or miss, but you may get a rep that is willing to do it. I always think it's at least worth trying...the worst they can do is say no. :)

  16. Hi FFM! I'm coveting some mark down cashmere, but so far I'm resisting...

  17. I had 8 items lined up to buy & decided to wait until this afternoon. By the time I got back on tonight I was down to 2! It must of been a sign. Boo HOO

  18. There's just nothing in the sale area that I want or need. I bought some things during the last extra 20% promo, and I had no minimum free ship at the time. This promo isn't tempting me. The only item I want has been sold out for ages :)

  19. I am bad, I cave in. I got Ikat bow monde dress, ruffle wool shift and couple of crewcuts items. None of teh items were marked as a FS, hop, can return the dress if it does not fit.

Incidentally, BF chinos are $9.99 at the store, I got Olive pair for $6.99 in sz 2 also. They run 1 size up IMO.

  20. Hi post-fab princess! Good for you on resisting...I know how hard it can be! :)

s: I'm sorry to hear about your items disappearing from your cart! That happened to me with the Infinity necklace...very frustrating.

Desert Flower: That's the way I feel. I was able to get pretty much everything I had been longing for over the past month or so and then other pieces for Christmas, so there isn't a whole lot I'm interested in now.

Slastena: Congratulations on all your new items! I know you are going to look stunning in your dresses! Thanks for the info on the chinos, too. :)
