My Unbelievable Encounter Update: Wonderful News!!!

For those of you who have been following my blog for a while now, you will remember the posts about *My Unbelievable Encounter* with the drunk biker seen here, here, here, and here.

After several court dates and many months of waiting he was finally sentenced. After his attorney negotiated a plea to lesson the charge from a Felony to a Misdemeanor (if he agreed to pay restitution), he was ordered to pay me for the damages to my Expedition, along with all fines and court costs associated with the case.

All in all I am very pleased with the outcome. He did not just *walk away* from his crime scot-free. The fact that he was arrested, had to appear in court several times, pay for damages, and was actually held accountable for his actions is definitely satisfying.  :)

  7. A very uplifting update! Good for you for fighting for your family - and for others who would have crossed paths with this guy. Your persistence made a difference!

  8. Nice to see that you got your restitution in the end. I was the victim of a hit and run when my car was BRAND new. Witnesses saw the driver who hit it, but didn't get the full license #. The police never caught her which is so frustrating. Your situation was much more serious, and I'm so glad the guy didn't get away with it. Maybe he'll think twice before messing with a mom and her kids! How scary that someone would do that!!

  14. So glad to hear that! Kudos to you for staying with it - that took a ton of patience & fervor. There is no excuse (drinking or not) for someone to act like that - ever.

  18. I am so happy to hear this! So, will the charges be dismissed when he pays the restitution and costs? Or did he actually plead to a misdemeanor? Just curious.
