J.Crew New Arrivals: IRL Pics *Part Two*

More pics of New Arrivals. :)

J.Crew Metallic Beach Cardigan in Metallic Silver, item #23159, $128.00. No, no, and no on this one...way too rough and scratchy on. The silver was not pretty at all IRL, not to mention it is much shorter than the pic of it on the model in the lookbook. I am only 5'4" tall...

Sunshine Peony Cardigan, item #24938, $98 (I think), size XSmall on me. This is brighter IRL than in the pic...the lighting in the dressing room isn't very good at all, so expect more intense and bold color if you are waiting for this to arrive.

Zebra Print Skirt, item #23002, $68. There is a subtle purple in the stripe that doesn't show up online...very subtle, and very pretty. I believe I have on the size 0 in this picture, but decided on getting the 2 for a little bit of length and room in the backside. It looks as if it is puckering a bit at the front in the pic because I hadn't realized it had pockets that needed to be *unstitched* when I snapped the pic. This one is so cute IRL..I love it for Spring and Summer with sandals and a tank top. :)

Silk-Linen Ruffle Pullover, item #24755, $88, size XSmall on me. This also comes in Soft Sandstone, but all my store had was the Dark Pewter. The ruffles go all the way around the back, and this one is made to be sheer, especially on the arms and upper chest area. It does require a tank to be worn underneath it...I have the perfect fit tank in dark charcoal on under it in this picture.

Heathered Microrib Jaspe' Hoodie, item #23331, $59.50 currently $47.60 online. This is the true Jaspe'...not one with the Merino wool in it. I found this to be more fitted and a tad shorter than it is in the pic of the model on the J.Crew website. I still got my normal XSmall and like the way it fits. I think the Small would have been too *roomy* for my liking in the midsection area. Oh yeh...an added bonus...the *hood* part of the hoodie isn't heavy at all. :) I didn't get this in the store, but did order it online this morning with the 20% off promotion. This one is really cute layered over tank tops and button downs...not to mention so soft and comfy, too.

Have a wonderful afternoon! :)

xoxo,

  6. I LOVE the zebra print skirt! I pre-orderd the Blakely dress in the Zebra print but just may have to get the skirt too. And I'm disappointed in the Metallic Beach Cardigan. It was longer in the catalog.

    Thanks for sharing!

  7. Thank you so much for real life pics and uploading the catalog. So many cute things! I can't wait to go this weekend to try things on.
I really the ruffle dress on you and the zebra skirt is really cute!
I pre-ordered the peony skirt so hopefully it ships next week. Looks like the peony dress is the same cut as the watercolor potpourri dress.

I think I'm going to get the jaspe hoodie with the current promo. Looking forward to your styling ideas. :-)

  10. I like the peony sunshine cardigan--fFM: do you think it's nice enough to buy (if I'm not planning on buying the skirt)?

  15. Good Morning Everyone! Thank you all so much for stopping by and for the wonderful comments! :)

Anon@10:56: If you don't get the skirt, but definitely want something in the Peonies print, then the cardigan is a nice option, even though it is a darker print than the skirt, dress, and shirt. I do wish it was cotton instead of merino though. :)

  16. Ina: I think the Zebra skirt seems to be running TTS, if not a tad large. Here are the measurements on the size 2...hopefully they will help you. :)

    Waist: 31"
    Hip: 38"
    Length: 15.5"

For reference: my waist is 27", and my hips are 36.5". I bought the size 2 to wear further down on my hips. This gives me roughly 4 more inches on the length, making it much more comfortable for me to wear (especially bending over to pick up my almost 3 year-old).

  17. FFM, you look great! Especially in the more form-fitting pieces. Thank you for the IRL pics... you have me jonesing over that zebra print skirt (love that it has pockets!). What do you plan to wear with it? I can only think of pairing it with a black or white top, and because it's a print, I'm limited to solids. It's such a standout classic piece, yet I'm don't really know how to style it.

  18. Good pics & good info. It's sad to see another ruffle tier shirt, but it sure is cute.

  19. Hi Francesca and THANK YOU!!! Right now I plan to wear the Zebra skirt with black and navy, plus I have the Twill Bomber Jacket in Fatigue on the way. It doesn't look like it would go with the skirt from the online pic, but IRL it looks great. My store didn't have my size so I had a WWFIFY search done yesterday and just got the email that it's on the way. I am hoping that there will be more pieces in the fatigue color or one similar that I can get to go with it, as well. A tee would be great. It does have a subtle purple color in the stripe, so I may try to find a tank or tee similar to it. Other than that I think that brighter colors such as orange and bright fuchsia will look good, too. HTH! I just tried it on again today and simply LOVE it. :)

  20. I'm loving the sunshine peony cardigan, and the zebra skirt looks fabulous on you. I pre-ordered the cardigan in a size small. I hope it's not too big as my measurements are similar to yours.

    Thanks for sharing!

  21. Thanks for the ideas, FFM. I can't wait to see how you style it when you get the fatigue jacket; I like the idea of contrasting rough/refined pieces together. Pls post pics when you get them.

I like the idea of a bright orange tee and maybe a faded blue or white jean jacket on top.

  22. I just found your blog and am loving it so much. Thanks so much for uploading the catalog! I've been wanting the zebra skirt and peony cardigan, but haven't had a chance to try them on. I think I must have the skirt for sure!
