Pretty Little Dresses...

Pretty Little Dresses...I love them. They bring to mind images of Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O., Marilyn Monroe, and Elizabeth Taylor. A time of glamour and ultimate femininity for women...no desire to *borrow from the boys*, but to simply embrace the joy of being a girl, and all that goes with it.

I personally love wearing dresses...they make me feel extra feminine and girly. In most cases (depending on the dress) they can be just as comfortable as wearing pants or jeans, too. It's really just a matter of getting used to wearing them on a regular basis, IMO.  :)

Fortunately today there are many retailers offering pretty little dresses for those of us who do still love them and want to wear them. They range from day dresses to party dresses, and at all different price ranges, so if you're looking for one, there are many to choose from.  :)

How do you feel about dresses? Do you wear them often? Have you found any lately that you absolutely adore? I'd love to hear your thoughts...

xoxo,

  2. I prefer dresses to skirts they are so easy to wear just pop a sweater on over the dress and you are ready to go. Currently I do not have much opportunity to wear dresses I mostly wear casual clothes.

  3. I love dresses because they are so easy to wear! I wear them to work occasionally, especially in the springtime. Love your pics and love that dress on Audrey Hepburn.

  4. I love dresses on others who wear them so well! However, I don't have the nicest legs so I only wear them on occasions or going to church. I've gotten into Anthro these days and they have so many unique dresses it's hard to resist. :-)
Oh, I also got the Jaipure tunic dress and plan to wear it over leggings since they are a bit short on me.

  5. I LOVE dresses! In the spring and summer it's pretty much all I ever wear. I don't care for shorts so a nice dress is the best way to stay cool, and it's so easy: put on a dress, a necklace and some espadrilles and done! Great topic, FFM. I really like that Catmint dress. :)

  6. I adore dresses, especially when the weather is warm. My DH, who has no interest in fashion, always notices a summer dress. I have been on a hunt for some inexpensive woven cotton dresses, but without much luck, so I'm going to look at your picks and the new Anthro catalog.

  7. I just love pretty little dresses. Especially in summer since I would only wear shorts in the privacy of my own home - and even then it's depressing. Skirts and dresses are a much better option for my frame. Can't wait to do some shopping with my niece and sisters over our spring break! Happy Easter.

  8. I totally agree. I love them because you can dress them up or down. They can hide a multitude of sins. I do not have to worry so much about things matching, and they are so comfortable especially when it is hot outside.

  9. Hello ladies! Thank you all so much for stopping by today...I'm glad you've enjoyed this post. I agree completely about dresses being so easy to wear. I personally love the fact that they hide a multitude of sins, as goldengirl stated, and that they are a fantastic alternative to shorts in the hotter months of the year. :)

  10. Bought two Liberty of London dresses at Target. Love them both. One is short; one is long. With the weather being in the 80's will wear one Friday and the other Saturday.

  11. Great post! I love dresses and could seriously wear them all month long. They need no styling, simply accessorizing with shoes and jewelry. I love the spring exactly for this reason- dresses look perfect this time of year!

  12. I ordered the BR heritage jaguar print dress and it arrived today. I had such high hopes for it. I got a 6 Petite (my usual size). I couldn't zip it all the closed and the dress billows out below the empire waist too much both front and back.

I really like the Ann Taylor Loft Petite Empire Knit Dress with Cascading Chiffon in Mauve. It runs big. I just re-ordered it in XS.

DEA: Thank you for stopping by! :)

Mei: Thank you for the review on the BR dress...disappointing to hear it didn't work out IRL.

Have a wonderful day ladies! :)
