J.Crew *SUMMER* Promotion Ends Today

Hello Everyone! I hope your week is going well so far...it's almost the weekend (YAY) so *hang in there*! :) As most of you already know, there is another promotion at J.Crew going on right now. The promo is 20% off orders of $150+ with code SUMMER at checkout. The deal is good on all items, both SALE and FULL-PRICE, but it ends today, so if you're going to take advantage of it...today's the day! :)

I wanted to share some of my picks for the promo and recap some from prior posts...here we go:

*Sequin-Stripe Henley Tank. I love this one in both colors. The Seashore Beige is actually a light camel color IRL and very, very pretty. (The color is just slightly lighter than the camel stripes of the Vintage Bateau top shown below.) Check it out on Tabitha and Summerilla.

This is the way I wore the *Quarry* color last week:

*Vintage Bateau Top. Great time to get one now if you haven't already. This one is still waitlisted, but in my personal experience the waitlisted items usually ship earlier than the date given...sometimes months earlier (like my Curator pants did). Anyways, better to get on waitlist now with the promo than to wait and risk an even later waitlist date (which will happen once this date sells out if the top continues to be in high demand). You can see the top on me here.

*Chambray Maxi Dress. This one is lovely and the price is fanastic with the promo. You can see it in the Papaya color on me here.

*Torque Moto Cardigan. I haven't seen this one IRL, but I've heard good things about it.

*Featherweight Cotton Lynx Bling Button Cardigan. This looks really pretty...love both colors. Check it out (in the Neon Coral) here on AudreyBella. (She also has on the Linen Charter Skirt).

*Morning Glory Art Tee available in 4 colors.

*Solid 3/4 Sleeve Stretch Shirt...such a great staple piece to have in your wardrobe. I love these...they can be worn either dressed up or casually as seen in this Polyvore set I styled awhile ago.

*Jackie Cardigan. I have these in numerous colors...love them!

*Double-V Dress and the Ruched V-Neck Dress. I ordered the Ruched V-Neck Dress in the Abyss Blue, which is a GORGEOUS color IRL, as well as in the Navy. These are such great pieces for the summer months ahead. :) See them both here on AppGal, and the Ruched V-Neck Dress
here on Summerilla.

*Jackie Shell. Perfect companion to the Jackie Cardigan and equally fab worn on it's own or over the 3/4 Sleeve Stretch shirt.

*Mixed Crystal Colletto Necklace. I have this one...it's beautiful and the perfect size with just the right amount of sparkle.

*Perfect-Fit Ruffle Henley...just the right amount of ruffle to give the basic henley a little somethin' extra.

*Poplin Wednesday Skirt. Even though this is short, it has an elastic waistband making it possible to wear it pushed down further onto your hips giving extra length.

*Matte Jersey Curator Pant. I absolutely LOVE these pants...if you are even remotely considering them then you should give them a try. I think you'll be pleasantly surprise at how flattering and comfortable they actually are. :)

*Space-Dyed Henley Tank. Check it out here on Summer.

*Perfect-Fit Boatneck Tee available in 12 colors.

*Downtown Denim Trouser. Every woman should have a pair of dark denim *dressy* jeans in her wardrobe.

*Bazaar Tunic Dress. I own it and love it. It's well made, the print and colors are gorgeous...highly recommend. This is how I wore it out to dinner at the end of April and yesterday for an appointment and running errands.

*Painted Silk Bridget Dress. I haven't seen this one IRL, but it sure looks pretty in the online pic.
Dinagideon (check out her wonderful blog My Superfluities) has the dress and this is what she says about it:
"I am going to give a big ole shout-out for the painted silk Bridget dress. Clearly people are ordering it, but there isn't a ton of buzz in JCA land, so I figure it should have a little!

I ordered an 8 based on my ps advice (I went to her because I saw this was fitted and needed exact measurements). The 8 is perfect...fits beautifully through the waist and hips, and although the top is a little loose, nothing that looks terrible or couldn't be solved with a few stitches. I am a pear-shape, so I had to go with my hip's measurement when buying, but if you are busty, I would go with that measurement instead.

I hope I find an occasion to wear it soon, and not just a wedding. :) Maybe I will throw a party just so I can wear it. LOL"

*Pearl Twisted Hammock Necklace Yep...I have this one too (in Pearl) and love it, as well. It's very versatile...perfect with a little black dress (aka LBD) and equally as chic with a pair of jeans.

*En Plein Air Scarf. Great deal on this one (even though it's waitlisted).

*Broken-In Boyfriend Chino Short. The Broken-In Boyfriend Chinos are extremely comfortable, so I imagine the shorts are, as well.

*Wool Schoolboy Blazer. I love J.Crew Schoolboy Blazers...comfortable and flattering.

Are you planning to take advantage of the SUMMER code? What's on your list? I'd love to hear your thoughts...

xoxo,

Thank you for the list! Good info!

  2. Hi FFM,
Great post! Do you think the Bazaar tunic would work if you're pear shaped? Thanks for your advice!

  3. Hi FFM -
Please ignore my question about the Bazaar Tunic/Dress. Only size 4 left. That won't fit one of my legs!
    Thanks

  4. Thanks for the awesome post, FFM!
This has been a great promo, especially with the free shipping some of us have on our accounts right now. I have to admit, I ordered the Schuyler dress in black, as well as some of the "unsweatpants" and the waitlisted Curator pants (after your recommendation!) I ordered a couple of cami's as well, one a Collection piece already on sale!
With the use of my rewards card as well it wasn't too painful a checkout!

  5. Hi Ladies! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Dina: THANK YOU for sharing your review of the dress. I just updated my post and put it on the main page under the dress link. You are very lucky to have gotten it! I was going to order with the promo but it's sold out in my size now. I can't wait to see pics of you in it! :)

  6. Hi Carrie! Sorry to hear about the Bazaar Tunic. I know there have been different sizes popping back every so often, so if you're still interested in it you may be able to find one. I know that tunics can be a hard fit on pear shapes. I think with this dress it really depends on how much of a difference there is between the bust and hips. A slight pear can wear it, but I'm not so sure a more *pronounced* pear would be able to, without sizing up a good bit, and then the bust/shoulder area would be too large, IMO. HTH! :)

  7. Dani: YAY on your SUMMER purchases! I am still debating the black Schulyer since I have the Indigo-Striped one on pre-order in 2 sizes. It is just so pretty, though! Decisions, decisions...

I'm glad you got the Curator pants...I think you'll like them! :)

  8. Okay, I am a complete and total dufus because I didn't realize this code could be used on regular priced items. I thought it was only for sale. I fail at reading comprehension!

  9. I really like your posts like this - since finding your blog I've stopped impulsively buying "trendy" pieces that I don't know what to do with. Seeing your versatile outfits is so inspiring and a list like today's, is a good guide. Thank you - you have no idea how much you have helped (? yes you have) my shopping!

  12. Is there a way to view the new Summer items so that we can preorder with the Summer code?
    Thanks,
    Carrie

  13. Hi Carrie! Unfortunately unless you have a catalog you won't be able to see everything. I do have some of the new items saved in my Polyvore closet, and if you click on them the item number is in their website URL, even though they don't show up available to order on the website. Here are the 2 Polyvore pages where I have new items saved.

Click Here and Here . Dina has some posted in Polyvore, too: Click Here . HTH! :)
