Pretty Little Dresses *Part Two*...

Hello Everyone! I hope your week is going well so far...it's almost the weekend (YAY) so *hang in there*! :) I apologize for the lack of posts this week...as you probably know we spent the holiday weekend at the beach, so I have been busy catching up on laundry, housecleaning, appointments, etc. since we got back on Monday evening. I hope to have a bit more consistency with posts starting today though. :)

So...since it is June and Summer is officially here, I thought it would be fun to have another post on *Pretty Little Dresses*, sort of a follow-up to the first one I blogged here, if you will. :)

Summer is the perfect time for dresses. They are so easy to just *throw on* and go, they keep you cool when the weather is hot, can be dressed up or down, and just look so darn cute.

Here are a few that I own, or would like to own (for the sake of time/space I have excluded maxi dresses, otherwise the post could go on for a very.long.time.) :

*Bazaar Tunic Dress. I still love this one and feel it was a really great purchase. The dress is well-made, the fabric feels nice on, and the print is gorgeous...highly recommend if you can find it in your size now.

*Ruched V-Neck Dress. I have this one in Navy and the Abyss Blue is on its way. I think this one is quite flattering and the fabric is super comfortable. Here's one of the ways I plan on wearing it:

*Vintage Zebra-Stripe Blakely Dress. This is another one of my favorites...the dress is so lovely IRL. I wore it to a Women's Conference/Luncheon at church back in May and received numerous compliments on it.

*Textured Scoopneck Sheath Dress. I picked this one up 2 years ago for $9.99 in my LOFT store, and then they brought it back again last year. This is another one that is much prettier IRL than the online pic. The color is amazing and the fit is very flattering...it always makes me feel very *Jackie O* when I wear it. ;)

*Convertible Swing Dress. I have this one in Brown, as well as it's sister the Sanur Dress in both Navy and Dark Charcoal, but wish I would have purchased either style in every color...LOVE them! Please bring these back J.Crew! Here's how I wore the brown one recently

and how I wore it last year:
Clara and the Convertible

* Indigo-Stripe Schuyler Dress which is the one in the pic at the top of the post. I pre-ordered this one so it should arrive early next week...can't wait. I know it looks short on the model, but I doubt it will fit me like it does her, since I'm sure she's much taller than me.

Now for some I think are really pretty and wouldn't mind owning:

Solid Schuyler Dress...same silhouette as the striped one, but in 3 lovely colors. You can see DaniBP looking gorgeous in the Orchid Shadow color here.

Vappu Dress. The ever Fabulous Roxy tried this one on in the Dark Yellow here.

Have you been wearing your *Pretty Little Dresses* now that the weather is warming up?  Have you found any lately that you absolutely adore? I'd love to hear your thoughts...

xoxo,

  1. I heart summer dresses especially since shorts and me just don't go together. Loft, J. Crew and Anthro are great go-to places for adorable dresses. I was also pleasantly surprised when I was shopping at Belk in Alabama. I got the cutest Sophie Max (a Maxx Studio brand) dress in chocolate. It's just a plain little scoopneck, knit dress but it has the cutest diamond gathers at the top. I always get compliments when I wear it - it's just the perfect flattering fit.

  2. Hi Janna! Thanks for stopping by, and congrats on the dress from Belk! I have a store just up the road from me and always manage to find some really cute things there. Did you happen to see all the J.Crew look-a-likes by the Madison brand? I was shocked by how many there were at my store.

  4. Nice Post! I like the Zebra Blakely and the Bazaar Tunic--although I preferred the Jaipur Perfect shirt in that print and opted for only that in the end!

  5. I love my Bazaar tunic dress! Couldn't agree with you more! (although it is a tad low cut....)

Scooped up the mirelle tote on sale today, and thought of you. If you didn't get it the first time around, keep your eyes peeled, it is popping back, for around $150....

  6. I was at Crewlet last weekend and they are carrying a version of the Convertible Swing Dress in several colors and even a cute print. Get ye to a Crew Factory Store!

  7. Thanks for mentioning me in the post, FFM!
I do love that Schuyler dress, and I think the striped version of it is going to be a real winner: please let us know! The online description says the fabric is linen, so nice!
Love all the little dresses you posted. I tend to wear a dress every day in the summer: so easy, and like Janna I do not wear shorts.
That zebra blakely dress is so great, I wish I hadn't missed out on it!

  9. Ahh, summer always equals pretty little dresses in my eyes. Great post! I can't wait for your review of the Indigo-Stripe Schuyler. I think I'm going to try one on this weekend and see what I think of it. After seeing everyone's raves about the Bazaar Tunic, I might have to ebay one if my B&M doesn't have any left.

  10. Hi FFM,

How does the ruched v-neck dress fit. I noticed that they come in XXS. That usually means they run large. Does it run TTS? TIA!!

I really liked your selections BTW!

  11. Hi Ladies! Thank you all for stopping by today! :)

California Wife: The Zebra Blakely is just so pretty, flattering, and unique...I can see why it gets so many compliments. I know you looked gorgeous in it, too. :)

    Yogagirl: Thanks! :)

The Chic Chauffeur: Thanks for the heads up about the Mirelle Tote. I agree with you about the tunic being low cut, but I have mine pinned together so nothing gets revealed. ;)

Anne: Thanks for the info about the Crewlet. I emailed my store and they have them here, too. I think I do need to make a trip there soon. ;)

Dani: Thank you! I will definitely be sure to let you know what I think of the Indigo-Stripe Schuyler. Btw, I've seen the Zebra Blakely popback every now and then, so you may still be able to get one. It would look fabulous on you! :)

  12. Coley and AllDressedUp: Thank you! :)

Anon@5:15: Thanks! On the Ruched V-Neck Dress: I ordered the XSmall after seeing it on Summerilla, who usually wears about the same size as me. It fits well and will be fine if it doesn't stretch out any, which it shouldn't since it's Rayon (if I remember correctly). The fit at the bust is good and the skirt portion is full enough to not be clingy, but not too full to add weight that isn't there. I am also going to wear a slip under mine (even the navy) because it is a little see-through. HTH! Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

  13. Since you love the convertible swing dress, I just want to let you know that Lands End Canvas has a version of it. I have it in steel gray and I want it in more colors! Thanks for the great post as usual!

  14. Great stylings! I'm going to do the gold accessories with my ruched v-neck in that blue. love it!

  15. Great post! I am absolutely LOVING dresses/skirts for the summer!

  16. Susan: Thank you for the information about the dresses at Canvas. I also like the Pleat Front Dress...now I just need a % off code. :)

    Thanks Pamela! :)

Stacie: Me too! Btw, how did the Shirred Racerback Gown from J.Crew workout? Did you like it?

    ReplyDelete
  17. The Shirred Racerback gown was a big thumbs down :( Actually I loved the top of it but it was just cut really slim in the dress part so it was not flattering on me at all. I ordered an XS which fit perfectly in the top but as I am a bit of a pear shape the bottom was too clingy. A small might have been better but I just ended up returning.

It was ok though, I found an older j.crew maxi dress on Ebay that I love and fit perfectly :)

  18. I am LOVING the ruched v-neck JC dress in abyss blue. I wish it were available in even more colors! I wore it last Friday, when it was SUPER HOT, to a baseball game and it was perfect.
