Style Inspiration by FFM: Sequins and Chambray

Happy Monday my dear readers! Thank you for stopping by today...I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week! :)

Today's post continues an already ongoing feature that I am now calling *Style Inspiration by FFM*, where I will post one of my Polyvore set designs and include links to items you can purchase to re-create the look if you so choose. Some of the set designs will be outfits I am wearing or have worn in the past, others will be *reader request* sets, and some will simply be outfits I would love to wear. (If possible I try to include a *real life* photo of me in the outfit if it's something I'm wearing at the time. Of course my schedule doesn't always allow time for snapping a pic, but it is definitely something I hope to include more of with this feature in the future.)

Now on to today's *Style Inspiration by FFM*...this set is the outfit I wore for out trip to Shriners Hospital in Tampa back on 9.13.10: *Sequins and Chambray*.

Sequins and Chambray

Since I always take my camera with us for his visits, I was able to snap a pic of myself in the mirror of our room.

The Details:

I wore my J.Crew Contrast-stitch perfect shirt as a shirt jacket over the Sequin-stripe henley tank (also from J.Crew) in Seashore Beige. The Contrast-stitch perfect shirt is one of the best purchases I have ever made. It has become one of my *go-to* pieces and a definite staple in my wardrobe...very flattering, comfortable, and extremely versatile. If you happened to miss out on getting it, there are similar options available, such as this one or this one. The Sequin-stripe henley tank is very pretty IRL. The sequins are subtle (making it easier to wear in the daytime), the color is a great neutral, plus it's comfortable to wear. It does run large, so size down if possible.

My pants are the Matte Jersey Curator pant from J.Crew. I purchased these several months ago during one of the 20% off promotions and immediately fell in love when they arrived. I find them to be very flattering, comfortable, and another versatile piece in my wardrobe. I purchased my *normal* J.Crew pant size, but could have possibly even sized down one, had I wanted a less *slouchy* look. (Similar here and here.)

The Urchin's Shell earrings in Crystal that I'm wearing from Anthropologie are now sold out unfortunately, but this pair are a similar alternative. I have on several bracelets: first is the J.Crew Crystal Supernova Bracelet that I also picked up on sale several months ago...another great purchase that I wear all the time. It is now sold out, but there's a similar one here. Second is the now sold out J.Crew Crystal Colletto Bracelet (similar here), and last is a wide goldtone bracelet that I purchased a long time ago at Forever 21 (similar here).

Once again I wore my Aviator sunglasses, which I own in both gold and silver, and switch out depending on the jewelry I am wearing. The size is perfect...not too large or too small, and very flattering to most facial shapes. Aviators come in a range of colors and prices. A couple of pair similar to mine can be seen here (in Brown) and here.

My shoes are the Steve Madden MELROW, which I also managed to snag at a fantastic sale price. I absolutely love these shoes and receive tons of compliments anytime I wear them. They are just about sold out, but you can see similar styles here (these are the originals that the Melrow were *inspired* by) and here (in Tan).

As you can see, I continue to carry my J.Crew Large Metallic Gallery Hobo a lot. This was one of the best purchases I have made and the CPW (Cost Per Wear) on it must be at about 5 cents by now. ;) If you're looking for one I would suggest posting on the J.Crew Aficionada Weekly Exchange, {Looking to Find} thread or check Ebay on a regular basis. You never know when someone may be willing to part with theirs. In the meantime, check out this one as an alternative.

Have a beautiful and blessed day!

xoxo,

  10. You look so effortlessly chic. I actually wore my contrast stitch shirt yesterday to church paired with bronze twig color cafe capri pants. I like the idea of wearing it opened with a nice tank layered.
