Style Inspiration by FFM: *Lexington and Tartan Plaid*

Happy Friday my dear readers! Today's post continues an ongoing feature called *Style Inspiration by FFM*, where I will post one of my Polyvore set designs and include links to items you can purchase to re-create the look if you so choose. Some of the set designs will be outfits I am wearing or have worn in the past, others will be *reader request* sets, and some will simply be outfits I would love to wear. (If possible I try to include a *real life* photo of me in the outfit if it's something I'm wearing at the time. Of course my schedule doesn't always allow time for snapping a pic, but it is definitely something I hope to include more of with this feature in the future.)

Now on to today's *Style Inspiration by FFM*...this set is an outfit I plan to wear in the near future: *Lexington and Tartan Plaid*. This outfit includes some of my most loved pieces and is sure to become one of my all-time favorites looks.

The Details:

The Double-Faced Wool Lexington Jacket is from J.Crew Fall 2007. I missed out on it then, but was fortunate enough to purchase it from another JCA on the weekly exchange last year. The jacket is so lovely in person, not to mention extremely well-made. If you're able to find one, I would say definitely get it, otherwise J.Crew has a similar option here that you can pick up now for $84 with code MUSTHAVE at checkout. :)

The shirt is the Tartan Plaid Boy Shirt also from J.Crew. I absolutely adore this shirt...one of my all-time favorite purchases by far. It is sold out online, but you can call J.Crew and ask to have a *We Will Find It For You* search done to see if there are anymore available in the stores. Otherwise there are a couple similar alternatives here and here.

The Navy Blue Turtleneck is from Gap, and it's worn under the button down Tartan shirt. I love these turtlenecks...so soft and a nice weight for layering as well as wearing by themselves. Gap is offering 25% off purchases today with code GAPSAVENOW at checkout, making the turtleneck $12.74...definitely a fabulous deal! If the Gap version isn't for you, there are similar options here and here.

The jeans will either be my J.Crew 5-Pocket Trouser Jeans from a couple years ago (similar here)or my Old Navy Weekend Jeans in weathered wash.

My Urchin's Shell earrings in Crystal from Anthropologie are now sold out unfortunately, but this pair are a similar alternative.

My gold oversized watch is from Target and is a great less-expensive alternative to this one from Michael Kors. It runs large, but I had a jeweler remove a couple of the links and it's now a perfect fit. I love it AND the price! :)

The Kenneth Jay Lane Champs-Elysees 8-3/4" Bracelet is one of my favorite jewelry pieces. It is big and bold, yet lightweight...the perfect statement piece. I purchased it at QVC.com earlier this year, so it is sold out now, but there are similar options here, here, here, and here.

My Sam Edelman Simone Booties in black suede were purchased last year but are still available for purchase again this year at various retailers such as this one and this one.

The red handbag in the Polyvore set is the Mulberry Bayswater leather bag which I don't own but would love to.  My red bag is actually the Chloe Paddington Satchel (this is not my bag and I am not the seller) but the Polyvore picture of it doesn't show the true color of the red. The Mulberry bag is closer to the color of the Chloe and looks better in the set. :) (Other red bag options here and here.)

That's it...an outfit that is *casually chic*, yet simple to put together and still very comfortable to wear. :)

*Btw, don't forget that Anthropologie, Endless.com, and J.Crew are all running special promotions right now...you can see my post about them here.

Have a beautiful and blessed day!

xoxo,

  2. This set just looks absolutely fabulous! I don't have most of the pieces but you've inspired me to look for them. How does the Lexington fit? I missed out on eBay and hope to get one soon if not next year. ;-)

  3. Thanks AppGal! I can't wait to see your recreation! :)

jcrewphd: Thank you! The Lexington I have is a size 4 (I am normally a 2 in J.Crew jackets/blazers today) and while it fits nicely, I think I could have sized down to a 2 possibly. The sleeve length is longer than I would like, but since I can't have them altered I just make them work. I'm not sure if sizing down would help that issue much though. Good luck finding one! It really is a gorgeous jacket IRL. :)

  4. lexington is one of my fav jcrew items. Love it! i had the grey version and always wanted the black.

Bayswater has no lining and really heavy by itself, so i am still debating...
