Style Inspiration by FFM: *1.31.11*

Hello my dear readers! Today's post continues an ongoing feature called *Style Inspiration by FFM*, where I will post one of my Polyvore set designs and include links to items you can purchase to re-create the look if you so choose. Some of the set designs will be outfits I am wearing or have worn in the past, others will be *reader request* sets, and some will simply be outfits I would love to wear. (If possible I try to include a *real life* photo of me in the outfit if it's something I'm wearing at the time. Of course my schedule doesn't always allow time for snapping a pic, but it is definitely something I hope to include more of with this feature in the future.)

Now on to today's *Style Inspiration by FFM*...this set is a casual outfit I wore for working at home, schooling the boys, and all my other daily wife/mommy duties on 1.31.11.

The Details:

Madewell Slim Stripe Shirt in Classic Black. I love this shirt...good quality, pretty IRL, comfortable, not to mention I got it at a fantastic sale price.

My Old Navy "The Weekend Jeans" are my *go to* pair for a more casual, dressed down look. They are extremely comfortable and very affordable...highly recommend if you're in the market for a new pair of denim. (Similar jeans here and here in 7yr distressed.)

I purchased my Monet Gold Hoop Earrings at Macy's last year. They aren't available online, but you can find similar options here and here.

My gold oversized watch is from Target and is a great less-expensive alternative to this one from Michael Kors. It runs large, but I had a jeweler remove a couple of the links and it's now a perfect fit. I love it AND the price! :)

The J.Crew Small Crystal Colletto Bracelet was purchased last year at a great price, and is worn on the same arm as the watch. (Similar here and here.)

The Kenneth Jay Lane Champs-Elysees 8-3/4" Bracelet is one of my favorite jewelry pieces. It is big and bold, yet lightweight...the perfect statement piece. I purchased it at QVC.com early last year, so it is sold out now, but there are similar options here, here, here, and here.

My Angela Caputi Chain Link Bracelet is the same one seen in this photo and this photo from The Sartorialist. I want to thank Desert Flower for finding out where to purchase this bracelet...I love it! (It is also sold here at the "Off Broadway" Boutique.)

The beige colored bangle is one I picked up on supersale from Old Navy last year. I love the way it looks layered with the Angela Caputi and KJL bracelets. (Similar here and here.)

My ring is big, bold, and a great *match* to the Angela Caputi bracelet and was found at a vintage shop many years ago. If you're looking for something similar you may consider this one or this one.

The Leopard Flap-Pocket Tote is from Talbots. I purchased this one with a great promo last year, and it has quickly become one of my favorite handbags to carry. It is absolutely gorgeous IRL, the quality is excellent, the size is perfect (not too large, not too small), the printed haircalf is beautiful, and the design is a classic that will stand the test of time. Highly recommend this one if you happen to come across it. It's sold out on the Talbots website, but they do have popbacks occasionally, or you could check Ebay. (Similar options here, here, and here.)

My Leopard-print Haircalf Ballet Flats are also from Talbots. I also purchased these on promo for a fantastic price and love them, as well. They sold out awhile ago, but if you are interested in a leopard-print haircalf flat there are similar options available here and here.

The Aviator sunglasses were purchased from Endless.com quite awhile ago and are one of my *go to* pairs. Aviators are sold just about everywhere and at different price ranges, so finding a pair to fit your budget should be fairly easy. :) (A few you may be interested in here, here, and here.)

Have a beautiful and blessed day! :)

xoxo,

  8. Love this FFM! Does the Madewell shirt have any stretch to it? I also love the mix of stripes and print. Oh, thanks for your tip on the Angela Caputi bracelets. I just ordered some and can't wait to get them.

  9. Tracey, yogagirl, Elizabeth in MO, Desert Flower, Carol, Janna, and Lizzy T: Thank you all so much! I really love the pattern mixing on this one, too...plus it's very comfortable to wear. :)

Lizzy T: The shirt is 100% cotton. There is a hint of stretch, but not much. Congrats on the bracelets! What colors did you get?

  10. This is an interesting, comfortable, casual outfit. I love how you put your own style together by combining designers and textures. The label on this outfit it YOURS, not the designer's.
