Style Inspiration by FFM:*Love This...* Interpretation/Recreation

Hello Everyone! Today's post continues an ongoing feature called *Style Inspiration by FFM*, where I will post one of my Polyvore set designs and include links to items you can purchase to re-create the look if you so choose. Some of the set designs will be outfits I am wearing or have worn in the past, others will be *reader request* sets, and some will simply be outfits I would love to wear. (If possible I try to include a *real life* photo of me in the outfit if it's something I'm wearing at the time.  Of course my schedule doesn't always allow time for snapping a pic, but it is definitely something I hope to include more of with this feature in the future.)

Now on to today's *Style Inspiration by FFM*...this set is my interpretation/recreation of a look featured in one of my *Love This...* posts back in April. From the moment I saw this photo, I knew I wanted to wear something like it. I love the understated, effortless, casually chic look of the outfit, so I put together a similar outfit that I plan to wear this summer. :)

IRL:

My top is the Old Navy Lightweight Roll-up Shirt in *Mineral Deposit*. I purchased this top at the beginning of April for a fantastic price, and it's still available in numerous sizes at 15% off today with code ONMELON, if you're interested. (Similar here and here.)

The shorts are from J.Crew and were purchased on the JCA Weekly Exchange. If you're looking for navy shorts (a great staple for every wardrobe, btw), you can find a similar pair here (30% off with code LOVEIT) and here.

My Monet Gold Hoop Earrings were purchased at Macy's last year. They aren't available online, but you can find similar options here and here.

The gold oversized watch is from Target and is a great less-expensive alternative to this one from Michael Kors. It runs large, but I had a jeweler remove a couple of the links and it's now a perfect fit. I love it AND the price! :)

I purchased my Angela Caputi Chain Link Bracelet (in Amber) from Serena Italian Imports back in December of last year. I absolutely love it and wear it all the time. (It is the same one seen in this photo and this photo from The Sartorialist.) The bracelet is also sold here at the "Off Broadway" Boutique.

The Kenneth Jay Lane Champs-Elysees 8-3/4" Bracelet is one of my favorite jewelry pieces. It is big and bold, yet lightweight...the perfect statement piece. I purchased it at QVC.com early last year, so it is sold out now, but there are similar options here, here, and here.

I purchased my Tortoise Sunglasses a couple of years ago on Ebay, and they are still in great condition. (You can find a similar pair here and here.)

I opted for my J.Crew Serengeti Skinny Patent-Leather belt from 2008 (similar here and here)  instead of a solid colored one like in the pic, because I like the added visual interest it gives to the look.

The sandals were purchased at LOFT two years ago on super sale, and you can see from the pic that I have worn them a lot. They are the Serena Mini-stud Sandals in Gold, but I also own them in Black with Gold Mini-studs and White with Gold Mini-studs. They are so incredibly comfortable and another great purchase...CPW (Cost Per Wear) must be in the negative amount by now. I'm not sure if you could find them on Ebay, but this pair (in Gold) and this pair (also in Gold) may work as an alternative for you.

My Goa 4-Pocket Handbag is from Banana Republic. I like the way the color of the bag works with the color of the footbed on the sandals, really helping to pull the outfit together. The bag is no longer available, but there are similar options here and here.

Btw, I'm not the only one recreating my *Love This...* look. Peggy recreated the look here and Piccolinas recreated it here...fabulous job ladies!!! :)

On another note, if you're sale shopping this week, there are several promos going on. You can check out my post on the J.Crew, Old Navy, and Boden deals here.

That's it for now! Have a lovely day! :)

xoxo,

  8. Cute, cute, cute, cute!!!

I actually prefer your choice of the belt since the shorts and shirt colors are so neutral (leopard print really makes the outfit)

    Best of all-it's timeless!
