  1. Hi FFM!
I love that blazer. Just yesterday I was going through some old old JCrew things. I have a sleeveless wool top in that exact plaid, it must be from 2000 or so. I am definitely going to wear it this fall!

  3. I had a Ralph Lauren Black Watch blazer from about 1994 that I gave away three or so years ago because it made me feel like Grandma . . . have a feeling I'm going to regret it.

  5. Blackwatch is so versatile it goes with so many things, it is such a throwback to the early 90's like Hexicon said.

FFM, I have been having trouble with pages loading on your site, it jumps around alot. I just thought I say something in case others are having problems too, if not than I know it is my computer getting old.

  7. I loathe it, it's too Scottish and kilty!

  8. Hi DaniBP! I also love the blazer, but then I like just about anything in Blackwatch plaid. :) I'm looking forward to seeing you in your 'vintage J.Crew' top this fall. I'm sure it looks beautiful on you. :)

  10. Hexicon: Isn't that always the way it is? I consigned a J.Crew eyelet blazer last year and then they ended up offering a new one this year. I was really regretting getting rid of mine at that point!

  11. Cricket: You and me both. It is lovely, isn't it?

  12. casual-crew: Thank you for letting me know about the issue with my blog pages. I'm going to do some checking into it and see if I can get it fixed. I know blogger has been having numerous issues lately, so perhaps that is the reason for the problem. I do appreciate the heads up! :)

  13. Southern Belle PhD: Thank you! I'm really glad to hear that you enjoy the OOTD posts and will try to post them on a more consistent basis. :)

It's frustrating to hear that you and casual-crew have been having problems with my blog pages loading. I appreciate both of you saying something about it so I can look for a solution.

  15. I went to my local J.Crew yesterday, and they already had this in the store. It is GORGEOUS! I didn't even try it on for fear of falling in love. It was priced at $200+ (I can't remember if it was $225, $248, or another price; I just know it was over $200.). It looks extremely well-made. My personal shopper said she planned on working extra shifts to buy it! haha

  17. I love blackwatch plaid. I had a Woolrich blazer in the 90's that is definitely a bit oversized and fits the borrowed from the boys look. I removed the shoulder pads and roll up the sleeves and it is still going strong.

However, last year Talbots had the cutest blackwatch blazer in their fall/winter line up that beats this JCrew basic by a mile. I had to have it. Very well made. I love having a more fitted one now as well. I got it with a speical 40% off one item coupon that I had--perfect!

  18. Hmmm...not sure how I feel about it. I think some JCAs will be able to rock it. My first thought was a flashback to the 80s when I had a pair of plaid pants just like this. I have a feeling I'd get tired of it after one season. And there's overall too much green, which is a colour I never wear.

  19. Anon @10:05: I remember all the Blackwatch at Talbots last year. They had a beautiful taffeta skirt in it that I would have loved to have, as well. Lands' End also had a Blackwatch blazer last year that I tried out, but unfortunately their sizing is usually too large for me and it didn't fit. It was really nice though. Congrats on your Talbots blazer...it sounds absolutely lovely! :)

  20. Clicquot: I agree that there will be some JCAs that the blazer is going to look fantastic on. I'm really looking forward to seeing someone post IRL pics, too. Maybe there won't be as much green in the actual blazers in the store as there is in the one online. :)
