My Fabulous Factory Store Find

This past Saturday I headed out to the mall to make a few returns and do some Christmas shopping. After spending some time there, I decided to stop by the outlet mall since they have a Kate Spade factory store. You see...unfortunately none of our local retail malls have a Kate Spade, but I have heard that their factory stores sometimes get retail items, so I decided to stop in and have a look. SO VERY HAPPY that I did, because I found this little beauty there in my size!

It is the retail Jana Bead-Neck Printed Top (still available online here) that originally retailed for $245.00. Guess how much I paid? Just $28.28! Yes...you read correctly! Needless to say, I am beyond thrilled! The top is absolutely gorgeous in person, the colors are divine, the print is beautiful (reminds me of 'vintage' J.Crew), the beading at the neckline is so pretty, not to mention that it is very well-made, so as I'm sure you can imagine...I am very pleased with my 'Fabulous Factory Store Find'!

Here you can see a close up of the beading at the neckline...

More of the beautiful print and colors...

The tastefully done gold exposed zipper on the back...

Now, I had initially planned on waiting until next spring to debut it because I prefer to wear darker colors during the winter, but since the colors are more muted and the fabric is substantial, I may just go ahead and wear it now (especially if I can find the right cardigan to wear over it). :)

Do you ever visit the factory stores at your local Outlet mall? If not, do you plan to go in the near future? If you do go, have you ever made a 'Fabulous Factory Store Find' there? Please do share! :)

Have a lovely day!

xoxo,

  2. Thanks shopwithm! Yes, I know that I truly do LOVE an item when I want to wear it immediately, and that is definitely the case with this top. I will more than likely wear it very soon. :)

I've had some amazing luck at the KS outlet too, especially with jewelry.

  5. Thank you mommydearest and roxy! It was definitely worth the trip to the outlet (even with the horrible parking issue), and I will absolutely be visiting it on a regular basis now. :)

  9. Dani: Thank you! It was a madhouse at the outlet mall when I went, but that's mainly due to it being Christmas time. Normally it isn't that bad there, so checking the store often should be fairly easy to do. :)

  12. Wow, FFM, that's an amazing find! Congratulations! It's gorgeous! The last time I visited a Kate Spade outlet I seem to recall only purses, shoes and accessories...it's not too far from me (a little over an hour). I just might have to make a trip there later, after the holiday rush is over! Thank you for sharing!!! ;D
And I would also have to wear it now!!!

  13. Thanks Suzy! I really wasn't expecting to find any clothing at my factory store, so this was definitely a pleasant surprise! I was actually looking for a gold wallet that sold out online a couple of weeks ago. They didn't have the wallet, unfortunately, but did have a rack of clothing hanging at the back of the store, and that is where I found my top. I hope that this will be a 'normal' and frequent event there. It is so much fun to visit an outlet and actually get past-season retail items. Let me know if you find anything good when you visit your KS factory store. :)

  15. Just beautiful! Congrats! The Kate Spade at our outlet mall just has purses, shoes, etc. I'll have to keep my eyes open for clothes. My best outlet find was almost ten years ago -- gorgeous soft cashere sweaters at Nautica for $14.99. The cashmere was so much nicer; now it's gotten so cheap -- thin and scratchy.

My lucky find Kate Spade-wise has been finding not one, but two pairs (six months apart) of brand new Kate Spade loafers at thrift shops. And, luckily, the last pair was MY size.

  16. Anon@7:04pm: Thank you! Definitely check your local outlet for clothes. Maybe this is something new that they just started doing? I hope so! It is SO much fun to visit there and find clothes from the retail store. :)

Thanks for sharing your fabulous outlet find! Such an amazing deal on cashmere. I'd love to find some at those prices now (along with the good quality). As for your Kate Spade loafers, you must have been thrilled when you came across them at the thrift shop! IMO, it's sort of like winning a mini-lottery when you find those types of items. :)
