PSA: J.Crew Sterling Skirt Back Online NOW!!! (IRL Pics Included In This Post)

The Sterling Skirt is available in both colors NOW at J.Crew.com!!! I absolutely LOVE this skirt! The quality is excellent, it is fully lined, and very comfortable to wear. If you have a pear or hourglass figure, then this skirt is for you! I highly recommend it! :)

Here it is on me in the Heather Carbon colorway with the Skinny-rib Turtleneck from Vince (that I mentioned earlier this week), and the La Canadienne Passion Riding Boot in Black Suede (that I also mentioned earlier this week. Btw, the boot is 25% off today with code BOOTSALE).
:)

Like I have said numerous times before...I absolutely love this skirt and highly recommend it! Click HERE to get yours now before it sells out again!!!

xoxo,

  1. The fabric of the sterling skirt is divine, so soft and silky. Unfortunately, this skirt looks absolutely horrid on me thanks to my straight figure. It's best for those with a small waist and curvy hips IMO. I plan to post IRL photos of the skirt on my blog today.

  2. I'm so glad to see the skirt back! Everyone should try this skirt! I'm sorry it doesn't work for you, xoxo. It has become my favorite J. Crew I have ever owned and my favorite in my closet. It flatters my figure but still allows me freedom of movement. I love J. Crew's pencils skirts, but sometimes I feel to constricted in those. I just love the Sterling Skirt and have ask the higher ups at J. Crew to make it in more fabrics and colors and for spring/summer. Don't let this one get away and get both colors!

  3. I snagged the heather acorn skirt last week during one of the 30% promotions. So glad I did! I already have the heather acorn pencil skirt but I think the sterling will be stepping in to first place when choosing to wear this skirt. I have an hourglass figure and it is so flattering on me, I love it! Love how you styled the grey - I mostly wear these skirts for work and don't have any idea how to style them for more casual wear. Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. This style is great for those who are quite thin like FFM, or have an hourglass figure. I can only wish but reality is, this skirt is not for me. Check out my IRL photos here. If I looked like FFM I would buy this skirt in *every* color.

    Enjoy ladies!

  5. This skirt looks great on you. Since I have camel and gray in fall weight fabric already, I'm looking forward to this style in Spring.

  6. SO cute on you! I hope J.Crew keeps coming out with more of these great mid-length skirts...I love a mini, but they were getting awfully one-note with the length for a while.

  7. xoxo: I'm so sorry to hear that the Sterling skirt didn't work for you! You are lucky though that the pencil skirts do. I do not have much luck at all with them, so that is why I am extra thrilled that J.Crew introduced this one. Now there is at least a little something for everybody (or every body..heehee). :)

  8. Anon@10:41am: This is also my favorite skirt that J.Crew has ever offered. I completely agree that it flatters yet still allows movement, not to mention that it is really well-made. I am really looking forward to getting it in additional colors next year. :)

  9. xoxo,
This skirt does not work for me either. I tried it on and Yikes for straight, tall 5'10" person who can usually wear anything the waist was way to small on this one for me. Glad so many other like it!

  10. Anne: YAY! Another fan of the Sterling skirt! :) This one is great to wear in a more casual chic way, especially since it is incredibly comfortable. Besides the turtleneck, I've also worn it with a cardigan that was belted at the waist. Polvyore here. I really think it is quite versatile and a worthwhile investment. :)

  11. JulieStyles: Thank you! I've put in requests for the Sterling to be offered in spring weight and colors, as I'm sure others have as well. Fingers crossed that J.Crew listens to us! :)

  12. Thanks Whitney! I agree...we really need more mid-length skirts. Hopefully J.Crew will keep them coming. :)

  13. (original) Genny: I'm also sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you! It sounds like this one is either a total hit or a total miss. At least J.Crew is offering some variety in their skirts so that everyone gets the chance to have a flattering and well-made one. :)

  14. FFM, it's nice to see some style variety in the double-serge wool fabric too, it would be nice to see a selection of colors in the sterling. I kept running my hands over the fabric when I tried this skirt on, the wool is silky soft and the skirt appears to be so well-made. Great you found your new favorite. It disappears so quickly I'm sure J.Crew will bring it back for spring/summer or at least next fall. :^)

  15. xoxo: Yes, the fabric is gorgeous and it is nice to also have something in the double-serge (besides my Maggie jackets). Plus I like that it isn't overly heavy or too warm so that wearing it in Florida now is perfectly fine. I have heard from a trusted source that the possibility of additional colors next year is a very good one. Fingers crossed! :)

  16. FFM! is the Crew making the skirt in more colors? YAH!!!! I'll buy everyone! And to xoxo....I think the skirt looks good on you, but it's what you are comfortable with. I'm 54 yrs. old, so it's a very age appropriate skirt for me. I'm 5'9" and it's the perfect length too. Tomorrow night I'm wearing the grey one to a party. Haven't decided what I'll wear with it, but it looks good styled so many ways and it looks good with everything J. Crew I own.

  17. It is a very nice looking skirt but just not my style. I prefer either a straight skirt or a full skirt....this being in between would not work for me. Plus, in NC it is just too warm to wear any wool. It was 70 degrees here today. I have yet to wear a winter coat!

I am just hoping for some gorgeous full skirts like I used to buy from JCrew in 2007...that hit right above the knee.
