Style Inspiration by FFM: *Christmas Party*

This post continues an ongoing feature called *Style Inspiration by FFM*, where I will post one of my Polyvore set designs and include links to items you can purchase to re-create the look if you so choose. Some of the set designs will be outfits I am wearing or have worn in the past, others will be *reader request* sets, and some will simply be outfits I would love to wear. (If possible I try to include a *real life* photo of me in the outfit if it's something I'm wearing at the time. Of course my schedule doesn't always allow time for snapping a pic, but it is definitely something I hope to include more of with this feature in the future.)

Now on to today's *Style Inspiration by FFM*...this is the outfit I wore to a Christmas Party last week on December 13, 2011.

*Christmas Party*

IRL:

The Details:

*My turtleneck is the Vince Skinny-rib turtleneck in Black. I purchased this several weeks ago at Neiman Marcus and have worn it numerous times since then. It is extremely comfortable to wear and works well with numerous items already in my wardrobe. The shorter sleeves are perfect for our weather in Florida right now, and also work well for those in colder climates who like to layer, but do not necessarily need too much extra warmth. (Similar here and here.)

*I fell in love with the Floral Long Swing skirt from J.Crew the moment I saw it in the Spring 2011 Collection preview, but when it finally arrived on the website at the price of $400, I gave up hope of owning it since that is out of my budget. Then to the surprise of myself and many other JCAs it actually went on sale at a deep discount. Luckily, I was able to get one at a fantastic price that I was very pleased with. I absolutely love the skirt and received numerous compliments on it at the Christmas party.

*My earrings are the Acorn Fireball Earrings in 'black' from J.Crew. These are so pretty in person and the size is perfect...not too large and not too small with just the right amount of sparkle.

*I also wore the matching Acorn Fireball bracelet. Once again, this piece is tastefully done with just the right amount of sparkle. (I also own the earrings and bracelet in the 'Bright Papaya' colorway and plan on wearing them with my J.Crew Paradisa dress and Concise Denim jacket next spring as shown in this Polyvore set.)

*My watch is the Joan Rivers Shimmering Croco Pattern Strap Watch in black. I purchased this back in June and wear it on a very regular basis...very comfortable, a nice size, and pretty, too. :)

*The black patent clutch with the bow was a thrift store find a couple years ago. (Similar here and here in black.) I love the way bag compliments the patent strap on the watch, and the fabric bow compliments the microbfiber fabric of my black pointy-toe boots (which I purchased several years ago). Similar boots here and here.

*Also worn that night but not pictured are my pair of black opaque tights purchased last year probably at Target. (Similar here and here.)

I must say that I really do like the way this outfit turned out. When paired with the black turtleneck, boots, handbag, and black/gold accessories, the skirt was made the 'center of attention' (aka focal point) as it absolutely deserved to be. I will definitely wear this look again at some point in the future. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely day! :)

P.S. If you haven't already entered my GIVEAWAY to win the Isaac Mizrahi Live 'Perfect Crystal Bold Stretch Bracelet' in Goldtone, you can do so here.

xoxo,

  2. Love this skirt too...the price on this skirt just kept going down, down, down. I wore mine with a cashmere Ann Taylor deep cranberry cardigan with chiffon ruffle at the button closure area and J.Crew metallic bow flats from several years ago to a party recently.
