Sunday Shopping: Reader Request - Neutral Footwear

Hello Everyone! Sunday Shopping is back again this week, and today we are going shopping for a sandal or shoe to pair with the Ralph Lauren Polka-dot Cotton Shirtdress that I reviewed here earlier this month. One of my lovely readers who also purchased the dress, is looking for a neutral sandal or shoe to wear with it, (preferably with a heel height of no more than 3 inches) and asked if I would give some suggestions. Let's do some online 'window shopping' together, and I'll share some of my finds with you. :)

The sandal that I personally plan to pair with the dress on most occasions is the Jack Rogers 'Navajo' Sandal in 'Silver'. Metallics work well as a neutral to pair with most outfits, and the style of the Navajo looks very pretty with the RL dress. The same sandal in 'Platinum' would also work as a great neutral and look lovely, as well.

If you would prefer a bit of a heel, they also come in a Mid-wedge.

Another cute option is the Sam Edelman Trina Sandal in 'Natural'.

MIA 'Vena' Flat in 'Nude'

The Corso Como 'Solar' Sandal in either 'Camel' leather or 'Gold' leather would be very cute for a 'casual chic' option.

A dressier option would be to wear a pump in a neutral color, such as the Kate Spade Shelly pump in 'Linen' Patent leather

Tommy Hilfiger Morgan 2

For an inexpensive option, the Kylie Wedge Pump from Payless looks like a good candidate.

As do the Clarks Taboo West at 6pm.com

and the A2 Plush Above Sandal (available at Target) is also a fairly inexpensive option that could work.

A neutral or nude sandal/shoe will not only work well with the RL Shirtdress, but will work with many other outfits currently in most wardrobes. Even if you do not own this particular dress, a neutral sandal or shoe is still an important item to consider. I personally consider them a 'must have' staple piece for every woman's wardrobe. :)

Have a lovely day and Happy Shopping!

xoxo,

  2. Hi Ina! I wear my nude wedges frequently during summer, too. They just seem to go with everything, don't they?

  5. I tried on my RL polka dot dress with my red TOMS wedges like these: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/toms-canvas-wedge-women/3173231?origin=category&resultback=1318..... but my daughter (16 y/o) didn't like them with the dress. Would love to hear your thoughts...I am also stalking the Navajo's waiting for a sale!

    1. Hi Katie! You know, I almost mentioned in the post that pairing the dress with red shoes would be another great option, but decided to leave that out since the focus was on finding a neutral shoe to go with it. I actually think your red Toms would be very cute with the dress. I would wear them if I had a pair. Since I don't, I'll be carrying my red handbag instead. Btw, Bloomingdale's has Jack Rogers, and you can get 20% off on them this week with code FANDF.

  6. I've already worn my dress twice. I wore it with a red pair of Saltwater Sandals for a museum trip with my daughter and then with my white metallic Jack Rogers Hamptons mid-wedge sandals out to lunch with friends.
I think this dress would also look lovely with orange, green, yellow, and pink accessories and/or shoes.

Neutral sandals are definitely a staple. I have a decent sized collection of flats and wedges for warm weather and my neutral shoes are also the ones to see the most wear.
