Yes Please!!!

How adorable is this dress? Such a pretty and feminine silhouette, not to mention that it is perfect for the warm and 'lazy' days of summer. I actually had the opportunity to try this on at Anthropologie this week, and have to say that I am in love with it! The embroidery is beautiful, as are the little button details at the bustline, and it has a removable slip, as well. It definitely has a bit of a 'boho' feel to it, but I love that during the summertime. :)

The description on the Anthropologie website reads:

Beautifully embroidered and light as early spring air, an enchanting cotton frock from Vanessa Virginia.
  • Removable slip
  • Button front
  • Cotton; cotton lining
  • Machine wash
  • Regular: 36"L
  • Petite: 33"L
  • Imported
I tried on both the size 0 and 2, and although the 0 fit nicely, it was a bit too short for my own personal comfort. The length on the size 2 was perfect (hitting just above my knee), and the rest of the dress fit nicely without being too large.

I envision wearing the dress with a pair of flat sandals or flip-flops, gold hoop earrings, gold bangles, and a gold or cognac colored handbag...effortless and casually chic. This one is definitely on my list. :)

xoxo,

    1. Thanks M! This is really one of those pieces that you have to see in person, as the online photos just do not do justice as to how pretty it actually is. I think this one would be gorgeous on you, too! :)

  2. This dress is beautiful on you FFM and very much your style. Funny how we are both posting about white summer dresses. I like your styling ideas. I love hoop earings on everybody but do you think they could work with shorter hair? I cannot envision it, it seems wrong for me, am I right?

    1. Thanks ajc! I absolutely think that women with shorter hair can and should wear hoops! They are so classic and universally flattering. I always wear them...with shorter hair, longer hair, or my hair pulled back even. I think they will be beautiful on you. If you are unsure, then try a smaller pair at first and work your way up to a larger size. I think that once you start wearing them you will be hooked. :)

I tried it on and loved it, so I'll be getting this one with the great sale price! I hope you'll pick it up too, as it looks amazing on you. Thanks so much for pointing this one out or I'd have missed it completely. :)

  5. Darn autocorrect. Of course I meant "on" you and "isn't" going to work for me

  6. I tried this dress on today (I was looking for it specifically because of your post) and fell in love with it (I went with a 2 as well but it was the only size in the store and it doesn't feel or look too big, I think the 0 would be too tight on my chest). It is one of my first Anthro purchases and I am hooked. In any case thanks for posting about it. What are you wearing it with? Would love to see a follow-up post with styling ideas...
