A Little This, A Little That...

Love This...

And This...

Absolutely Stunning...

This Too...

In my on-going efforts to become healthier and well-balanced (which I blogged about in this post), I have once again started taking my morning walks, just before the sun comes up. I love how quiet and 'new' everything is at this time, not to mention it is wonderful to start the day off by doing something good for myself.

As I was putting together a playlist of music for my phone from our personal music library the other night, I came across this song from Paul Young...do any of you remember it? I really liked it back on the 80's, and actually still do. What about you?

From the Kitchen...

Best-Ever Banana Bread

I came across this recipe for banana bread awhile ago. At the time I was running low on butter and needed one that used oil instead. I've shared this recipe on the blog before, but after making it again earlier this week, and remembering how incredibly delicious it is, I decided to share it again. It is absolutely delicious and has become a fast favorite in the Fabulous Florida Mommy household. :)

Ingredients:
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. cooking oil
3 very ripe bananas
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour

Directions:
Cream sugar, oil, eggs, and bananas together (until the bananas are completely mashed). Sift soda, salt, and flour together, then add to the creamed mixture. Mix at high speed for two minutes.  Pour into well greased loaf pans or baking dish (I usually double this recipe and bake it in a 9x13 inch dish). Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes or until golden brown (test with a toothpick to check if done). When I double the recipe it takes about an 1.25 hours to bake completely. I cover the dish with aluminum foil for the last 15-20 minutes so that the top doesn't get too brown.

That's it for now...

So what have you been up to this week? Do you have any special plans for the upcoming weekend? Please do share! I always love to hear from you! :)

xoxo,

  1. Hi-OMG - crazy, busy week and next week is worse. Fortunately I grabbed a new iPhone this morning. Can't believe I stood in line for almost 2 hours...but I really needed a new phone-and have been waiting for months. I also got a new bag this week - couldn't be happier. Lots of events this weekend, a theater outing and work, work, work! Hope you have fun!

  2. Hi FFM, thanks for that recipe! I was just looking at the big pile of bananas in my kitchen!
I did not shop the sale this week though I might have a look at crewcuts this afternoon, I spent this morning re-organizing my daughter's closet and I realized she's outgrown so many things.
A good walk, nothing better. I've started my walks again too, well I'm dog-sitting so I'm sort of forced to! It has been great though, a bit of exercise seems to help in some many ways, sleeping, weight and mood.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  9. Oh ladies! I just realized that I never responded to all of your lovely comments on this post, and I profusely apologize! This week has gotten away from me with dental appointments, therapy appointments, school lessons, housework, etc., and I have been feeling a tad overwhelmed. Thank you SO much for stopping by to leave your comments! They always make my day! :)

To all of you who made the banana bread, please let me know what you think of it!
