Life Lately...

Life Lately...it's been almost 2 months since we made the move from Central Florida to the beautiful state of Montana, also known as 'The Last Best Place'. We settled into our rental house quickly, and along with normal daily life activities, have also been looking for a home to purchase, exploring the gorgeous Montana countryside, including several of the state parks and national forests that are here, celebrated our youngest son's 7th birthday, and even saw a grizzly bear up close & personal, as it crossed the highway right in front of our SUV. It has been a truly exciting adventure for the entire family, and a new life journey that we are so happy and blessed to be taking. Here are several photos I've snapped of our home life and 'expeditions' over the past couple of weeks:

The mule deer and wild turkeys are daily visitors in our yard.

Taking an afternoon walk up the mountainside that we live on...this was one afternoon last week, and the temps were in the upper 50's. The boys now think that is warm, and even ventured out in shorts. I however, still wore blue jeans, a long sleeve shirt, and my J.Crew boyfriend fatigue jacket.

The beautiful views from further up the mountain on our walk.

Ice Cream Birthday Cake...

The Birthday Boy...

At the movie theatre (60 miles from where we currently live) after seeing Muppets Most Wanted.

Where we live right now, there are only 3 stores to buy groceries at, one of them being Walmart, and this is the gorgeous view from the parking lot there...not bad, eh?

While I was in the store shopping I came across these...look familiar?

They are an almost exact replica of the J.Crew Factory resin droplet necklace, but for only $5.

Passing by the Hungry Horse Mountain Range on our way to look at a couple of potential homes to purchase...

We also took the boys to see the Hungry Horse Dam, which my husband and I had visited last August while we were in Montana.

The view from the top of the dam...

This past weekend we traveled up to Eureka and Rexford to look at a couple of houses. Passing through Kalispell it started snowing, but by afternoon it had cleared up and the sun was shining. This is the amazing view from the Lake Koocanusa bridge...absolutely breathtaking area. The mountains in the distance are in Canada, btw...

Here is one of the outfits I've worn lately...

    1. Hi Tabitha! Montana is indeed a really stunning place to live. I fell in love with the state back in my early 20's when I came out here to work on a ranch in Great Falls, and had wanted to come back ever since that time. It really feels like a dream come true to actually be living out here now. I hope you're able to make it back here to visit one day! Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for stopping by! :)

  3. Another beautiful montage! I too get the occasional visit from white tail deer as well as wild turkeys. Right now my pond is brimming with my geese (1 couple) & about 10 ducks. Montana is stunning! Def. on my list to visit! When did Garrett turn 7? My baby girl was 7 on the 4th. Did you find a house yet? Are you looking for something on a lake or wonderful mountain vistas? Hugs, Dawn

    1. Thanks Dawn! :) Garrett turned 7 on the 29th of March. I can hardly believe he's that old already. Time really is flying by so quickly. I know that is a very cliché thing to say, but it is just so true!

We haven't put an offer on a house yet, but do have several lined up that we're going to look at over the next week or so. Hopefully we'll find 'the one' soon! Would love to have both the lake and mountain views, but that gets really pricey around here, so I'm not sure what we'll end up with at this point.

Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for stopping by! :)

    1. Hi Julie! It is truly gorgeous here, and I'm sure you would love it, too! I hope you do get to visit your friend in Bozeman. We were there about a month ago to purchase an SUV, but didn't have the chance to look around a lot, as it was snowing heavily. It's on our list of places to go back and see though. :)
