Another Spring and Summer of Maxi Dresses...

Maxi Dresses...oh how I love them! They are feminine and flowy, come in a wide variety of prints, colors, and styles, hide a multitude of imperfections, and to top it all off, they are incredibly comfortable to wear, too.

In fact, one of the things I like the most about the spring and summer is that I get to take my maxi dresses out of hibernation to wear them again. Granted, since moving to Montana I will only be wearing them for a couple of months due to the weather (instead of almost year round like I did in Florida), but I am still going to enjoy wearing them nonetheless. :)

Here is a peek at just a handful of mine...

This photo was taken a couple years ago, but I will be wearing this same outfit again this year.

This photo is from the summer before last, and I am looking forward to wearing the dress again this year.

Another thing to love about maxi dresses is that they are available at all different price points to fit all types of budgets. I have done some online 'window shopping' for maxi dresses, and have listed several that I think look promising. Take a peek and let me know what you think. :)

What are your thoughts on maxi dresses? Do you love them as much as I do, or are they a 'no-go' for you? Do you own any of the dresses I have listed? Are you planning to buy a new maxi dress this year, or perhaps try one for the first time? Please do share...I always love to hear from you! :)

Have a lovely day!

  1. I love maxi dresses - casual, dressy it doesn't matter to me. My only issue the lack of occasions to wear the maxi dresses in my closet-there is just no way to make them work in an office.
I did wear one a couple of weeks ago to Napa for an anniversary wine tasting day trip with my hubby. It was comfy and perfect with a fitted denim jacket and sandals.

    1. Hi Julie! Your trip to Napa sounds absolutely delightful, and I hope you had a wonderful time! The maxi dress with denim jacket and sandals is one of my favorite looks. Just perfect for your day trip, too! :)

  2. I love and want the J.Crew collection silk maxidress, but in the older cobalt blue color. So pretty.

I don't wear them much, mostly because they are usually too short, and it's hard to find ones that are long enough. I do have a fab BR Trina Turk collection one, I definitely plan to wear that this summer. I agree that they are the perfect summer attire!

    1. Hi J.CrewJD! Oh, I would really like to have the cobalt blue silk maxidress from J.Crew, too. It is such a gorgeous color!

I have found that Rachel Pally maxi dresses tend to be really long, so perhaps you could give one of them a try. They come with an unfinished hem, so that you can easily cut them to the length you need them to be. I always have to shorten them, but you may not even need to do so. :)

  3. I never would have understood why maxi dresses are so great in summertime- it seems paradoxical- but now I love them. The way the fabric flows in the breeze, keeping you cool, and warming your legs in air-conditioned buildings...

I still feel a little self-conscious, because it can be a lot of dress!

    1. Hi thatdamngreendress! You are so right! It really does seem as if a maxi dress would be incredibly hot to wear in the summer, but oh how comfy they actually are. Once you start wearing them, it becomes a bit of an obsession, IMO. I just keep wanting to add more and more of them to my wardrobe. :)
