Cooking Simplified: Burrito & Taco Seasoning Recipe

Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well and having a wonderful week so far! Today I am sharing another one of my favorite recipes...a delicious Burrito & Taco Seasoning that you can easily make at home. I much prefer this one to the packaged seasonings you find in the local market. It is very flavorful and does not have any extra artificial ingredients or additives, which I really like. :)

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

In a small bowl, mix together chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt and pepper. Use as you would a store bought packet when preparing the dish. Store any extra mix in an airtight container for future use.

**The recipe makes one ounce of seasoning, which is good for one pound of ground beef. I usually make a double or triple batch since I use 2-3 pounds of ground beef for our meals. You can use more or less seasoning depending on your personal preferences.

I made burritos using this recipe earlier this week, and they were a big hit, as always. The seasoning gives just the right amount of flavor without being overly salty, and it is also very delicious, as I mentioned before.   2. Coming back to this for the second time, Melissa! Thank you--I also don't like the idea of packaged seasoning. This one is a bit on the hot side for my East Coast family, but I love it especially since it uses spices that are always in the pantry.

    1. You are so very welcome, Amy! I'm glad you decided to give it a try! I would suggest omitting the red pepper flakes in order to tame down the heat of the mix. I've done that a couple of times, and it still tastes just as good as the original recipe. :)
