A Little This, A Little That, and a 'What I Wore' Photo, Too...

Yesterday my eldest son Jake and I made a trip to Kalispell for an appointment he had with the oral surgeon to get his wisdom teeth removed. The procedure went really well, and he is now resting comfortably in order to give his body time to heal. :)

Kalispell is an hour's drive from where we live, so anytime I do go, I try to run as many errands as I can since our small town does not have any of the larger retail stores other than Walmart. Knowing that I needed to go by Target, Lowes, and also really wanted to stop into T.J.Maxx, Jake and I left earlier than necessary to give some time to do so before his appointment. Unfortunately the Montana DOT is currently doing repairs on the highway, so it took us longer to get there than anticipated, so I did not have as much time to look around as I had hoped. I did, however, find three of the items I had on my list to get while I was there...

In my Love This... post on Wednesday, I shared this scarf from Target as the 'On a Budget' option to recreate the look. I had placed my order for the scarf on Monday after Alexis from J.Crew Aficionada had shared a photo of the scarf on her Instagram. The scarf was available for pickup at the Target store in Kalispell, and since I was heading there on Thursday, I could easily pick it up then. I have to say that the scarf did not disappoint IRL...the colors are lovely, and it is supersoft. Plus it was only $16.99!

While waiting for the stock guy in the back of Target to bring my scarf to the Customer Service desk, I shopped the $1 section in order to find some new goodies for our 'Treasure Chest'.

The Treasure Chest is used to reward my youngest son Garrett for doing extra well in his daily school studies. It came with the curriculum Sing, Spell, Read, & Write, which I have now used for all three of my younger boys. The box filled with prizes really is a good motivator at getting them to work really hard during their lessons, and since my youngest has been one of the most difficult to teach, it is extra helpful.

After stopping by Lowes and Target, I had about 20 minutes to take a quick pass through T.J.Maxx to see what kinds of new goodies they had. I have been looking for a black crossbody bag with gold-tone hardware since my current one has silver-tone hardware, and I really have just never been one to 'mix my metals'. Well, to my pleasant surprise, the first one I pulled off the rack was made by Nine West, and ended up being a keeper...

Now, I normally prefer real leather handbags over faux-leather, but this one is really very nice, and the price was right...a win, win for me. :)

While in the handbag section of T.J.Maxx I snapped an OOTD pic, too...
