A Little This, A Little That...

Love This...

And This...

Absolutely Stunning...

This Too...

Yes Please!!!

These Too!!!

Last Sunday we woke up to our first snowfall of the season. My three youngest boys headed out to play in it as soon as we came home from church service, and needless to say, they had an absolute blast...

The snow all melted away within a day or two, but our temps were still rather chilly this past week, and I pulled out my Barbour 'Calvary' Flyweight Quilt Jacket to wear for the first time...

Outfit Details:

*Gap Turtleneck Sweater in Heathered Camel - Similar in novelty cashew crunch
*Gold Crossbody Bag from TJ Maxx last year - Similar here in light gold metallic and here

In the Kitchen...

I've been making Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Quick Cooking Oats for our breakfast several times a week. I add cinnamon, brown sugar, plus heavy whipping cream, and it is SO incredibly delicious!
Not to mention very filling, and a perfect start to our chilly fall mornings.

On the Agenda...

Tonight I am attending a Christmas Open House with music, goodies and lots of sales at
The Barn Antiques & Consignment Shop in Bigfork with a friend of mine. This shop is absolutely fabulous, and has an incredible amount of lovely home items, as well as clothing and accessories, too. If you are ever in the area, you really must stop in to take a look.

That's it for now...

So what have you been up to this week? Do you have any special plans for this weekend? Please do share! I always love to hear from you! :)

    1. Hi Eavan! We did get quite a bit that day, and are expected to get even more this coming Monday. I love seeing all the snow on the pine trees and mountains...it really is like a winter wonderland here. :)

  2. Love the pictures of the boys and the snow…we have had none in our area yet. I moved from the foothills, Conifer to the flatlands of Centennial but the temps have been in the 60's and it has been an amazing Fall but am hoping for some snow soon. Also, the skinny skinny crop jeans in tempest wash are down to $59.99!! online. I have 2 pairs but am maybe thinking a 3rd at that price would be good :) Have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you JRS! I was surprised we got so much snow last weekend, especially since it was only the first weekend in November. I do love the snow though, and I'm looking forward to my very first white Christmas this year. Hopefully we'll have snow on Christmas Day. :)

I did see the drop in price on the tempest crops. That is such a good deal! Plus I am hoping they will offer another % off tomorrow or Sunday. I may just buy a back-up pair then, too.

    2. Melissa, just an update stopped by Madewell while doing returns at J Crew tonight and picked up another pair of tempest crops. They were only $49.99 with 30% off in store, $34.99 so very hard to resist. I would say if they don't offer a % off online maybe call some stores. I know Cherry Creek, CO store had a whole range of sizes.

    3. Thanks for the heads up, JRS! That is a really fantastic deal! No % off this morning, but I'm thinking they will probably (hopefully) offer one for Veteran's Day starting tomorrow or Monday...fingers crossed! :)

  3. The photo of the boys in the snow is priceless. Snow is magic for kids.
I like your outfit especially the scarf and colors. Very pulled together casual chic. Keep warm. I think that we are going to have a cold winter ahead!

    1. Thank you AmW! I've had the jacket for quite a while, but this is the first time I've actually worn it. I don't normally gravitate to brighter colors, however, I am now starting to understand those who have commented about enjoying a bright coat when the weather is dreary out. It is a nice change on a rather dark day. I have also heard that this is going to be a cold winter. We are due to get more snow at the beginning of the week. I don't think my hubby is looking forward to it, but I know the boys will be thrilled at least! :)

  4. Have you tried making crockpot oatmeal or maybe that is how you make yours? I've seen pins all over Pinterest but no one here likes oatmeal. :( Thought it might be a great option for you and a no fuss morning in the kitchen. The snow is beautiful and I love the red jacket and plaid scarf!

    1. Hey Te - I haven't tried the crockpot oatmeal yet, but I have tried the baked oatmeal, and the guys didn't like it very much. The quick oats only take about 3 minutes so it's not too time consuming. I'm still going to look for the pins for the crockpot version, and see if it's worth giving a try. :)

  5. Melissa, I saw Rosie Huntington-Whitely in the airport a few weeks ago looking just as chic as in the picture you posted of her. The only difference being that she was wearing sky high heels, at least 4" maybe 5". She's TALL! I do love seeing people dress in something other than sweats to travel.

The pictures of your boys in the snow sure brought back memories. I love the desert but I do miss a change of seasons and sometimes I recall the beauty of a softly falling snow.

    1. Hi Desert Flower! How neat that you saw Rosie! I bet she is as beautiful IRL as she is in her photos, if not more. Her sense of style is superb, isn't it? I wonder if much of it is due to her stylist, or if she is just innately chic herself. Either way, she wears clothes really well, and always looks stunning.

When will you get to go to your mountain home? I'm sure you'll see some snow there, right?

  6. H, Melissa, I'm loving the pic of the boys in the snow, I have such happy memories of my sister & I making "snow angels." Looks like we may all get the opportunity to do that again this winter.

    1. Thank you wellfedfred! My sister and I grew up in Florida and only saw snow maybe one time as little girls. I do remember making a snowman and having frozen toes, as my boots, while considered warm by Florida standards, were not equipped to deal with playing in the snow at all.

Our weather forecast is calling for snow again tonight and throughout this coming week. The boys are going to be elated, I'm sure. :)
