It's been awhile since we've chatted...what have you been up to? Did you have a Happy Thanksgiving? This was our family's first Thanksgiving in Montana, so it was extra special for us this year. We are so very thankful to have been able to make the move out here, find a home, and finally start feeling more settled in. :)

I made the traditional Turkey for our dinner, along with Durkee's green bean casserole, corn, homemade mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potato casserole, and rolls. Dessert was pumpkin pie and carrot cake...yum!

This was our table setting this year...

On the Monday after Thanksgiving, we spent the afternoon putting up our Christmas tree and other decorations...

Love my new Bethlehem Lights Wreath on the fireplace mantle.

As well as the pillow cover I ordered from Pick Your Plum last month.

A few more adored decorations...

Last weekend hubby and I took the family to see the Christmas Parade in town, as well as the one in Bigfork.

Santa made his appearance at both parades in the back of a pickup truck, of course.

It was cold, but we all had a great time, and the boys especially enjoyed the hot cocoa, fresh baked cookies, and catching the candy that some of the participants in the parade were throwing out.

It has started to warm up quite a bit this week, but last week was very cold with lots of snow and ice.

I took the opportunity to try out my new parka from Target, snow boots, and trapper hat, all of which I absolutely love. :)

*Gap Turtleneck Sweater in black - Similar

The performances for the Christmas Program at the Christian Academy (where Jake attends for his Biology class) were last night and tonight. All the parents were asked to bring a dessert for the event, so I made Gooey Chocolate Butter Cake to take along.

So decadent and scrumptious...if you haven't ever tried it, you really should!

On Sunday the three youngest boys will be performing in their Christmas Program at church, so they have been practicing memorizing the songs, plus Zane and Wyatt have speaking roles, so they have been working hard at memorizing those, too. They are very excited about the performance, and looking forward to the day of the big event. :)

That's it for now...

Do you have any special plans for the weekend? Have you put up your Christmas tree and decorations yet? Done any Christmas baking? Please do share...I always love to hear from you! :)

    1. Thanks Wendy! Yep...after having a rather warm week, it looks like we are getting much colder temps and snow again next week. So glad the snow tires are on the car, and that we all have warm coats and hats. :)

  2. It has been a great holiday season so far. I had Thanksgiving at my home for 18 family members . Last weekend my husband and I began our Christmas celebrations by taking our children, now grown and some with spouses, along with two small grandchildren to a lovely inn in Vermont. We really had a great time exploring country stores, tractor parades, buying gifts and having scrumptious dinners. I finished all of the decorations at my homethis week. This weekend we are having friends stay with us since we are all attending the same festive Christmas party. This upcoming week we will be back and forth to NYC to meet friends for dinner and go to a holiday concert by the New York Philharmonic at Lincoln Center. Phew! But it has been great and shopping online has reduced a lot of the gift buying stress. I hope you also continue to enjoy this wonderful time with your family. The boys are precious.

    1. Thank you Teacups! :) Your Holiday season sounds so lovely! I imagine that Vermont is so gorgeous this time of year...I have always wanted to visit, but have not yet had the chance. I hope you have a wonderful time with your house guests this weekend. The Christmas party sounds as if it will be a lot of fun, as does the coming week with your NYC trips. Glad to hear you were able to get most of your shopping for gifts done online. I did the same thing, and it really does help to free up a lot time that would otherwise be spent trekking from store to store. Take care, and enjoy the rest of your festivities! :)
