Hello everyone! I hope you're having a really special and relaxing holiday weekend!
Did you happen to have any special plans, or perhaps travel anywhere? I have still been battling a horrible cold that seems to want to just keep lingering on and on, so we ended up staying tucked in at home enjoying the warmth of the fire, and a delicious Thanksgiving dinner with just the six of us.
On Friday I was able to do a bit of Christmas shopping online, and check a few gifts off of my list. Did you happen to do any shopping on Black Friday, or possibly participate in some online shopping over the past couple days?
There really have been a ton of great sales and deals taking place (my consolidated list is here), one of which happens to be at Sundance, where you can get 20% off your order of $150+ with code AFFBF5 until 11.30.15.
As I've mentioned many times before, I really love shopping at Sundance. Granted, many of their items can be quite spendy, but if you can catch them during a promo or on sale, they end up being reasonably priced, especially since the overall quality of their merchandise is excellent.
Now I've been planning to get some photos of a few of the items I own posted here on the blog, and I figured with the extra % off promo taking place, that this was a great time to finally do it. :)
One of my very first Sundance purchases was the Sculptured Delight Dress.
The website describes it as..."A dazzling full skirt dress, with slim-fit bodice, pintuck and pointelle stitching. Back keyhole detail with jewel button closure. Cotton/polyester/silk. Hand wash. Imported. Exclusive. Sizes XS (2), S (4 to 6), M (8 to 10), L (12 to 14), XL (16). Approx. 36"L."
This dress is really lovely in person. It is not only very flattering, but also comfortable to wear, and a decent length, too. As far as sizing goes, I would say it is comparable to J.Crew sizes.
I usually wear a 0 or 2 in dresses at J.Crew, and purchased the XSmall in this dress.
The World Journey Bag in chocolate, was another one of my first purchases.
From the website..."A small suede and leather zip bag with enough space for everyday or a journey around the world; inspired by classic European mountaineering bags. Double pouch pockets with snap buckles, zip top closure, adjustable webbing strap and inside zip pocket. Imported. Antiqued bronze hardware. 11"W x 2"D x 11"H."
This bag has quickly become one of my favorites, and I carry it on a weekly basis. The size and weight are perfect, I love the thick strap, and the quality is excellent. The chocolate colorway is currently sold out, but there are several other gorgeous colors to choose from.
One of my more recent purchases is the Betrothed Embroidered Tunic.
From the website..."Devote yourself to our beautiful tunic, with tonal embroidery, inset ladder lace at neckline, mesh and lace ruffle arched hem. Three-quarter sleeves, easy fit. Hi-lo hem. Rayon. Hand wash or dry clean. Imported. Exclusive. Sizes XS (2), S (4 to 6), M (8 to 10), L (12 to 14), XL (16). Approx. 29-1/4"L."
This tunic is so gorgeous IRL...the lace on the sleeves and bottom hem, plus the embroidery detail make it ultra-feminine and flattering. It does happen to be a bit on the sheer side, so I prefer to wear a cami underneath, and pair it with jeans and clogs. I took the XSmall in this one, and the fit is good. Once again, the sizing is comparable to tops at J.Crew or Anthropologie.
It appears that the tunic is sold out right now, but I think there are good odds that it will be offered again in the future. (Similar here and here)
Yet another more recent purchase is the Folk Art Paisley Tee.
The website reads..."Traditional designs inspired by the art of Lancaster County are reinvented in our lightweight thermal tee with contrast sleeves and a classic fit. Each unique. Cotton/polyester. Machine wash. USA. Exclusive. Sizes XS (2), S (4 to 6), M (8 to 10), L (12 to 14), XL (16). Approx. 26-1/2"L."
This tee has quickly become one of my favorites. I love the contrasting print on the sleeves, plus it is not only flattering on, but also very comfortable, and the quality is excellent. I purchased this one in an XSmall, too...once again, go with your J.Crew or Anthropologie size in tees.
In the spring and early fall, I wore it under my Oversized Cargo Vest from Madewell with cropped jeans and clogs. This winter I plan to wear it under my Madewell Outbound Jacket with jeans and knee boots.
This particular tee is sold out, but Sundance offers this style of tee on a regular basis.
In fact there are several very cute & similar ones here, here, here, and here.
Lastly is the Kindness Matters Tee.
The website states..."A beautifully true sentiment, surrounded by a ring of florals. Soft scoop neck graphic tee, made by a small, woman-owned company that encourages following your passion. Cotton/polyester. Machine wash. Imported. Sizes S (4 to 6), M (8 to 10), L (12 to 14), XL (16). Approx. 26"L."
This is such a cute tee! I love how soft it is, as well as the vibrant colors of the flowers that surround the sweet sentiment. This one did not come in an XSmall, so I went with the size Small, and it still works for me...a little roomy in the mid-section, but not enough to really matter much.
The tee is currently sold out, but there is a really cute one that's similar here.
I do have a few other Sundance items that I wasn't able to get pics of, so I'll try to do that, as well as post a couple more reviews in the near future.
As for right now though, I hope these reviews & IRL pics have been helpful!
Perhaps you might even consider giving Sundance a try if you haven't already...
I don't think you'll be disappointed. :)
P.S. I'm also loving these beauties...
