Size & Fit Details:
Sits at waist.
Falls below knee.
I didn't give this skirt much thought until I saw it here on Anne - The Fab Life, and decided that I would give it a try. Both Anne and the website reviews said to size down, so I ordered size 00 (one size down from my 'normal' J.Crew skirt size), as well as size 000 to try, and the smaller of the two sizes fit best.
On me in size 000...
Paired with the Tippi Sweater from J.Crew in size XSmall and La Canadienne Bette Wedge Boots.
The skirt fits me length-wise like it does the model on the website, but I would like to have been able to try the petite version, which is 24" long and would have fallen just above my knee. I find this length to be a more flattering one for me when it comes to skirts.
I think the 27" length works ok for me at 5'5", but if you're shorter than me, you may want try for your size in the petite version.
The skirt is a-line with an elastic waistband, so for those of us who tend to be more hourglass or pear shaped, this one is a great fit. I love the fact that the skirt actually fits comfortably at the waist, while still leaving room in the hip area without being either too snug or too roomy.
I think the skirt would be really lovely paired with a white button down, and you could even throw a blazer or leather jacket on over it, as well. Anne paired hers with burgundy, which looks gorgeous, and so would red, cream, navy, emerald green...the possibilities are quite limitless.
