Cooking Simplified: Broccoli Cauliflower Salad with Tomatoes

This is a salad recipe that my mom has been making our family for many years, and one that I absolutely love. It consists of only 6 ingredients, and is quite simple and easy to make.
Here's what you'll need...

Broccoli Cauliflower Salad with Tomatoes

Ingredients:

1 Cup Broccoli Florets - raw
1 Small Package Grape Tomatoes
1 Cup Mild Cheddar Cheese - Shredded

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the broccoli and cauliflower. Cut the grape tomatoes into halves, and add them to the bowl, along with the shredded cheese. Add the mayonnaise to the mixture and stir until all the veggies are covered evenly. Place a lid or saran wrap over the bowl and refrigerate until ready to serve. (I prefer to prepare the salad the day prior to serving, to allow the flavors to meld together, and the veggies to soften just a bit).

That's it - simple, easy, & delicious...
a perfect dish to serve during spring and summertime meals.

  1. This looks really tasty! Question -- are the broccoli and cauliflower raw here? I think I can do raw broccoli but concerned about cauliflower being raw as well and whether that might be too much veggie goodness for my stomach (i.e, too heavy for digestive tract?) Maybe i'll steam a bit? Looks really tasty and healthy in any case! (Trying to distract self from shopping vacay by thinking about cooking instead! I really enjoy it, though I find thinking of what to make to be the toughest part sometimes.)

    1. Hi TM93! Yes, this is very tasty! All the veggies are raw, but if you let it sit overnight after preparing it, they do tend to soften up just a bit. Let me know what you think if you decide to give it a try! :)

    2. P.S. Did you notice that the Chateau Trench coat is marked down again today?

  2. OMG, no, I hadn't noticed about the Trench! It's still on my Wishlist so sometimes I'll check the other sizes to see whether P2 or P4 come up. No luck so far. TBH though, I've kind of given up on this coat due to the weird fit issues. :-( I think I am also to blame as I chose the wrong size from the start, should've perhaps gone with my Lady Day coat size. Anywho, womp womp. Pls do tell if you manage to snag it in your size!

Thx for extra tip and confirmation on the rawness of veggies! I think I want to give this one a try.

Hope you're having a good day! It's pouring rain here in NYC today -- I forget my umbrella when I headed out for lunch. Darted across the street and that was enough for a good soaking, oy!

    1. Well I never did get the chance to try a size 4, as it just isn't popping back at the time I finally get online in the mornings. The size 2 fits ok. I just cannot layer anything underneath it.

So sorry to hear about the downpours! It has been sunny and in the 70's here for the past couple of days. I think it's too early for those warm of temps though, so I'm hoping it will cool back down a bit. :)
