Shopping Simplified: A Comprehensive List of Weekend Sales & Deals You Don't Want to Miss + My Personal Picks!

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend so far! Any special plans?
I will more than likely be going for an eye exam today. Sadly, I think I am past only needing readers, and will more than likely end up wearing glasses on a regular basis from now on.
Hopefully I can find a pair of really cute and flattering frames. :)

I'm not sure what we'll be doing tomorrow. I do know that I'd love to make the trip to Glacier again soon, so that's a possibility. What I Wore... 4.14.16

What I Wore...4.14.16

The weather here in Montana has been all over the place...warm & sunny one day, then snowing the next. Last Thursday ended up being a very chilly one, with light snowfall in the evening. I had a lunch meeting with the network site director at our church, and then ran a few errands.

This is what I wore...

Shop It:

*Rockport City Casuals Rola Tall Riding Boot in nutella tumble leather - similar here and here

I have been switching it up on a daily basis...jacket and boots one day, then a maxi dress and sandals the next. I'm not really loving the warm temps this early in the year, but will admit that I am enjoying putting my maxi dresses and sandals back into rotation.

As for this look, I really like the way it turned out. Both the scarf and jacket are two of my all-time favorite J.Crew purchases. I know it's difficult to tell in the pics, but the scarf actually has a hint of the same green as the jacket, so they are really adorable together IRL.
The bag is perfect-size for a crossbody, well-made, and I am especially loving the denim for spring and summer this year. The boots...what can I say about the boots, except that they are FAB-U-LOUS, and extremely comfortable, and on sale at fantastic prices, too!
(Some better than others depending on the size you need.)
The jewelry pieces are once again some of my faves and in constant rotation in my wardrobe...definitely wonderful investments.

So how has the weather been in your neck of the woods? Are you in full-on springtime, or having to change it up on a daily basis like I am? Do tell...always fun to hear from you!

Wishlist Wednesday - Take a Peek at My Latest Obsessions...

There are so. very. many. things on my wishlist right now...what about you? I personally find this tends to happen most frequently when the seasons change and a plethora of fabulous sales abound. What's a girl to do? Make a wishlist to check off, of course!
That's what I did, and thought I might as well share it with all of you lovelies.

Take a peek at what I'm loving and wishing for...

*The Marin Hobo Bag - love the hand-stitched detailing on the sides of the bag,
and overall minimal design aesthetic.

*Pilcro Denim Military Jacket - perfect combination, isn't it?

*Niva Hobo Bag - gorgeous color and shape.
Love the braided details on the front of the bag & handle.

*Faye Tank - love all the little intricate feminine details, and think it would be really adorable peeking out from under my Knit Field Jacket.

*Embroidered Print Midi Dress - anyone recognize this dress?
It's the same one that the Duchess of Cambridge wore on her recent trip to the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation in India. I love the tassels, all the embroidery details, as well as the boho-chic vibe. I'm currently on the waitlist, so sign up if you're interested in getting one, as well.

*Open Front Bolero - I own this in white, but would honestly love to get it in just about every color, starting with the navy. Really cute to wear with sleeveless dresses, maxi dresses, and tank tops.

*Jersey Maxi Dress - both colors, please.

*Paris Bohemian 3/4 Sleeve Long Maxi Dress - in 'multicolored'. Love these dresses!
I own a similar one in navy, and it has quickly become one of my favorites.

*Short-Sleeve Popover Shirt in Stripe - there's just something about this shirt...love the simplicity, but also feel it makes quite a statement, not to mention the color and stripes are adorable.

*Eyelet Nightbreeze Dress - I'd love to have this in both colors,
but would probably start out with the 'almost black'.

*Chelsea Laser Cut Espadrille Wedge Sandal - how adorable are these? I especially love them in taupe, but wouldn't mind having both colors if I could score them at a really fab sale price.

*Vintage short-sleeve pajama set - I already own the long-sleeve version of this set, and absolutely love them. Now that the weather is starting to warm up a bit, I would love to get this version with the short-sleeves and crop pj bottoms.

*Coverall Zip Jumpsuit - some of you may think I'm a tad nuts, but I really think these are so adorable. Not sure how they'd look on me, but I would love to have the chance to give them a try.

*Chancery Clutch - in Leopard. How cute is this? Love the leopard calf hair and platinum colored leather strap, plus it has a 5 star rating out of nine reviews.

So many pretty things to love. I'll be hoping to check at least some of them off my list eventually...

What about you girls? Anything on your wishlist these days?
Do tell. It's always fun to hear from you! :)

No Pain, No Gain...

So, confession time...
Up until last Monday, I had not worked out regularly since probably last fall. There were a couple of times that I managed my heavy bag workout, but overall I have simply not felt like doing anything. Now this really does come as quite a surprise to me, as I have always been a person who exercises at least six days a week, starting in my teenage years and continuing up until the last year or so.

I can actually remember when I was younger, probably in my 20's, and a woman my age would say she just didn't have time to work out, or didn't care to work out, or if she did, it was on a 'when I get around to it' basis, and I felt so shocked! How in the WORLD could anyone possibly go more than a day without working out???

Fast forward 20 years or so, and I am that woman! It's not that I don't want to look firm and toned like I did just a few years ago, because I do...I really, really do! I just don't want to have to work at it, and wish it could magically happen. Flash back to reality where we all know that if you don't put in the time to exercise, you are not going to see any results...no pain, no gain, as the saying goes.

Well, what is a woman to do about this? For me, I have to be careful what type of workout I do, since I tend to build muscle easily, and can actually end up looking bulkier or larger, instead of slimmer, which is my main reason for working out to begin with.
Yes, I know the health benefits are very important too, but if we're being honest, don't we all really exercise for the weight loss and muscle tone? Of course we do, and my top three workouts to help slim, firm, & tone without becoming bulky are the Free Standing Heavy Bag (you can read my review here), a combination of Winsor Pilates & Callanetics, and simply walking
(although around here it's usually more like hiking).

Last Monday I decided I would start off with Pilates & Callanetics. I'm still feeling a bit weak and congested after my long bout of influenza at the beginning of the month, so I really didn't feel like doing anything too strenuous just starting out again. I must say that all of the stretching really has felt good, and I can feel my core starting to strengthen again, too. So far I managed to exercise every day last week, except for Sunday, and plan to try and continue (to the best of my ability) to do so from here on out. Realistic? Maybe not, but you never know if you don't try. :)

So girls, on another (semi-related) note...
don't we all agree that a cute outfit to do your workout in is part of the 'fun' of exercising?
After all, there's got to be some initiative to endure all that sweating and pain!
Am I right?

I personally have several 'go to' pieces in my 'workout wardrobe' that I've acquired over the past several years, and they are still going strong today...not from lack of use, but because the quality of the items were very good to begin with.
The majority of the items I wear came from Athleta, but I did pick up a few pieces from the sale rack of TJ Maxx as well (always love finding bargains at that store).
In true 'me' fashion, I spent a bit of time doing some online window shopping so that I could share some cute workout clothing options with you, because after all...
you know that I love to share that kind of stuff. :)

Take a peek at my picks...

On another workout related note...in my post yesterday I mused that I had ordered two of these water bottles from Amazon, and think that they are fabulous. They have received a 4.5 star rating out of over 3500 reviews actually.
I bought the grey (in case my hubby wants to carry one, although I love the color for myself, as well) and the pink w/pink cap (so very cute, and such a fun, happy color, too).
One of my get healthier/stay healthier goals is to drink at least 64oz. of water a day, and this water bottle is really helping me to keep that goal so far. It's easy to tote around, and I don't have to worry about the water spilling or leaking out everywhere.

How has your exercise and workout routine been going these days? Are you able to keep a consistent schedule going, or do you tend to slack off these days like I have been doing? What sort of workouts do you prefer to do? Do you have any favored brands of workout clothing?
Do share...it's always fun to hear from you. :)
