Wearing Today: 3.13.09 - by FFM on Polyvore.com
I had a VERY early morning taking my son to Physical Therapy.
My dress is similar to the one shown, but I found mine at a Second Hand Boutique. I am wearing it over a pair of the High Heel Flare jeans as a tunic, and the cardigan is optional.

I love this look! You look great and by the way, I LOVE your Blog!
ReplyDeleteSUPER cute! I love that look - you look adorable. Also the cardi... is that Honey Glaze? Great color!
ReplyDeleteBeing a teenager during the 90s, the dresses-over-jeans look has a special place in my heart. And you make it look so chic and not "grungy." Another great outfit. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute!!! :) I love the entire look...
ReplyDeleteThe cardigan adds a nice touch!
ReplyDeleteI could never pull that off, but you look great!!
ReplyDeleteReally cute FFM!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous. I may try this look with some of the shorter dresses that are coming out this spring. Thanks for the idea
ReplyDeleteSuper-cute! I love the little summery dress with the jeans and cardi -- makes the dress look more "grown-up" than it would by itself in a nice way. I really like the color combination too! Happy Friday, FFM! :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I can't believe you are a mother of 4! You should be the poster child of how you can be a mom with young kids, but still have a great sense of style and sophisticaton!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any tips for pulling off the dress over jeans? I have tried the look before and I did not look near as cute as you!
ReplyDeleteHi FFM, great look on you.
ReplyDeletewhat color is the jackie? is it the sourlemon?
i bought the aqua jackie, what tees would you wear with it, except a white tank?
i also ordered the birdcage neclace, have you seen it IRL? is it nice?
TIA ina
Hi Girls! I hope you are all having a FABULOUS FRIDAY!!! Thank you for all the sweet comments and compliments on today's outfit. This is a really comfortable and easy look for hopping in and out of the car and running around with the kids. I really like the dress, but feel too *exposed* if I wear it on it's own, and that is why I opted for it over the jeans...not to mention I really love this look, and always have. ;)
ReplyDeleteThe cardigan is the Jackie in Honey Glaze...one of my FAVORITES. The color is not the best for my skin tone, unfortunately, so I try to wear it with colors that do flatter me more. :)
GingerSnap: I think this particular dress works well over the jeans or cropped pants (I wore it that way last week) because it has a bit more *structure* and holds its shape away from the jeans, as opposed to clinging to them. I also think it's better to have close fitting jeans (such as the High Heel Flare) so that there is less fabric for the dress to catch on and cling to.
jcrewmommy: Thank you so much! I often cannot believe I am the mother of 4, either!
Hi Ina! I haven't seen the birdcage necklace IRL but would love to hear what you think of it when it arrives at your house. :)
ReplyDeleteDid you get the Jackie in the Dark Aquamarine?
hi FFm,
ReplyDeleteyes i got the dark aquamarin and would like to order a tee to go with it.
just not sure which.
This is a great casual outfit on you FFM. It's youthful and fun, and the color combination is terrific!
ReplyDeleteI have to honestly say, FFM, you are the most innovative and original with your styles. Nothing against the other JCrew bloggers, but most of them I can click right through because it's the same styled outfit just a different day & maybe different colors (bor-ing). Again, some are great, some are blah, but yours is the best!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are able to parlay your knowledge of fashion into a business someday.
Have a great weekend,
Anonymously Yours
So bohemian chic! I love all the different looks you always have:)Have a Fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend with your family!
ReplyDeleteIna, the dark aquamarine is so pretty. I think it would look great with Navy, Golden Yellow, Chocolate Brown, Champagne, and possibly the Tulip color, although I'm not 100% sure of that color IRL. HTH! :)
ReplyDeleteA Bigger Closet: THANK YOU! :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymously Yours: Thank you for the kind and encouraging words...I truly appreciate it! :)
Thank you Emily! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too! :)
Gorgeous outfit! I'll have to give the dress/tunic over jeans look a try - many of the dresses are too short for my liking (and legs!), so this would be a great option. You look fantastic - casual, yet chic (my favorite look!).
ReplyDeleteThis looks VERY cute on you. It's a little different from what you usually do and I like it a lot. The colors are fabulous and the whole thing just looks fun and creative!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so cute on you. & I love the hair.
ReplyDeleteHi FFM :) a little late to join in on the chatter, but I really, really love this look on you. I am a fan of the boho chic look with the tunic style tops. Fortunately, I live in a very "hippie" college, mountain town where this look is quite the norm :) Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, FFM. I love the colors and bohemian look, very creative. Very flattering, indeed.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the dress with jeans. You look great! I get so many style ideas from you, I'll have to try this soon.
ReplyDeleteHi FFM, you look fab as always. I was wondering if the earrings are the ones from Jcrew or the ones from Nordstrom that one poster offered to buy for you last weekend. I pulled the trigger and bought the fireball-charm necklace with the promo this week but didn't buy the earrings yet after reading that I could get them for 1/3 of the price at Nordstrom ...
ReplyDeleteHave a fab weekend!
FFM, I love this look on you. I am a fan of the dress over jeans look, but can't ever seem to get it right on me. :)
ReplyDeleteIna, I have the dark aquamarine jackie and I am wearing mine with the gray lydia (kind of a medium to dark gray, but I can't remember what JC called it). I get compliments every time I wear it. I agree with FFM's suggestions, except I haven't tried it with anything in tulip.
Elizabeth, Bekah, nocrewinjapan, AppGal, Cleo26, elegant_mom, Ema, and Math Teacher: THANK YOU SO MUCH! :)
ReplyDeleteEma: I am actually wearing the pair that lcsmom picked up for me at Norstrom Rack...sorry I didn't note it in my post! I am going to try to get a post with pics done for them this weekend, so that you all can see what they look like. I really love them, and the price was FABULOUS!!! :)

ReplyDeleteYou kinda look like a blonde Jennifer Aniston!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic!!!

ReplyDeletelove the outfit! you are the coolest mom!
ReplyDeletehope you are having a beautiful weekend!
Ina, one of the sa's was wearing the dark aquamarine jackie over the tea rose embossed strapless dress today. It was such a pretty color combination! I have a top in tea rose that I plan to try with the jackie. It's always nice to see the colors IRL. HTH
ReplyDeleteHow adorable!I absolutely love this outfit on you.Ultra-feminine, yet chic.
