*Fall Into the Gap*: Items Worth Mentioning

Last evening I had a rare opportunity to visit the local Mall without my boys. I wanted to see the New Arrivals at J.Crew IRL and use my Red Card for the last time. I had ordered a pair of jeans from (with free shipping) because I STILL like the Gap after all these years. Granted, most items are hit or miss, but there ARE really great pieces to be found. Anyways, I had decided to return the jeans because the fit was off on me...more of a lower rise than I prefer. So after I finished my return I started looking around (like I always do) to see the items IRL that I have been looking at online, and found several of them to be worth mentioning. I didn't get the chance to try any of them on but the jacket, however...I am mentioning them because they looked great IRL and the quality is there, plus Gap is running a 25% off sale items in the store. I'm not sure if it's still going on today, so if you plan on visiting for that reason make sure to call ahead. I also have noticed that most of the time the prices in the Gap stores tend to be lower than the online prices.

First item of mention is: The Cropped Pleated-Sleeve Jacket , which comes in Optic White and Buoy Blue. I actually purchased this in the white because it is so much cuter reminds me of the J.Crew Faille Maisey Jacket but with short sleeves. The in-store price was $33.99 plus an additional 25% off of that. However, I got mine for $15 because it has a small rip in it and they gave me an extra 40% off due to it being damaged...nothing that a needle and thread won't fix. ;) The weight of the jacket is nice for Spring and even Summer. The white looks bright, crisp, and clean. I purchased the's a little snug on my shoulders when buttoned, but feels fine when unbuttoned, which is how I plan to wear it.

Next is The Floral Ruffle Tank . Once much prettier IRL than online. I didn't get the chance to try this one on, but I have high hopes for it, and plan to purchase it in brown once the price gets marked down. It also comes in Purple Floral, Solid White, *Primrose Pink*, and Orange Plaid. I think it could be a nice, less expensive alternative to the Tuxedo-front Solid Cotton Cami .

The last item of mention (for today) is the Summer Striped Skirt which comes in Brown Stripe and Blue Stripe. This looks SO much better IRL than it does in the online pic...I really wish I would have had time to try it on because I really, really like it. It's definitely on my list of items I would like to have. The weight and fabric are substantial, and it didn't look to be sheer (at least not in the store), either.

I personally think that Gap has a lot of great merchandise...yes, even in the women's section. There were other items I think are also worth mentioning, but they will have to wait until tomorrow.

Do you still shop at Gap? What do you think of the quality and price of their clothing? Are you old enough to even remember the *Fall Into the Gap* slogan?

4.28.09 by FFM featuring J Crew sweaters

So today has been another busy one...I apologize for not blogging much recently, but life has been really hectic lately due to a whole bunch of things happening in my personal life, and I just haven't been able to do *everything*, as much as I would like to. ;)

This outfit is what I wore today running errands: son's dental appointment, market, butcher shop, post office, etc. The Merino Crewneck cardigan in Dark Charcoal had been in my shopping cart for a long time, but when I finally decided to get had SOLD OUT...UGH!!!! Then last week a couple of them popped back up online, and I didn't hesitate this time around...I had been wanting to get it to wear as a *twinset* with my Rolling Ruffles tank, and now I am finally able to...YAY!!! The cardigan arrived yesterday and I LOVE it! My earrings are similar to the ones in the set that I picked up at Target for $4. The shoes I wore are actually Pewter Patent in a very similar style that I found at Marshall's. They look great with the Rolling Ruffles Tank, Merino Crewneck in Dark Charcoal, Zebra tee, and my Michelle V-Neck Cardigan...definitely a great find for $25. Oh...forgot to mention they are SUPER comfy, too!

Inspiration: Changes In Life

Changes In Life

In every change that you experience in life,
there will be times when you'll wonder if you can endure.

But you'll learn that facing each difficulty one by one isn't so hard.
It's when you don't deal with a situation
that it sometimes comes back to confront you again.

Changes are sometimes very painful,
but they teach us that we can endure
and that we can become stronger.

Everything that comes into your life has a purpose,
but the outcome is in your hands by the action you take.

Be wise with your life,
be willing to endure,
and always be willing to face life's challenges.

Inspiration: Always Love and Accept Yourself

I accept myself completely.

I accept my strengths and my weaknesses,
my gifts and my shortcomings,
my good points and my faults.

I accept myself completely as a human being.

I accept that I am here to learn and grow,
and I accept that I am learning and growing.

I accept the personality I've developed,
and I accept my power to heal and change.

I accept myself without condition or reservation.

I accept that the core of my being is goodness
and that my essence is love,
and I accept that I sometimes forget that.

I accept myself completely, and in this acceptance
I find an ever-deepening inner strength.

From this place of strength, I accept my life fully
and I am open to the lessons it offers me today.

I accept that within my mind are both fear and love,
and I accept my power to choose
which I will experience as real.

I recognize that I experience only the results
of my own choices.

I accept the times that I choose fear
as part of my learning and healing process,
and I accept that I have the potential and power
in any moment to choose love instead.

I accept mistakes as a part of growth,
so I am always willing to forgive myself
and give myself another chance.

I accept that my life is the expression of my thought,
and I commit myself to aligning my thoughts
more and more each day with the Thought of Love.

I accept that I am an expression of this Love.

Love's hands and voice and heart on earth.

I accept my own life as a blessing and a gift.

My heart is open to receive, and I am deeply grateful.

May I always share the gifts that I receive
fully, freely, and with joy.

4.19.09 *Look One*
4.19.09 *Look One* by FFM featuring Forever21 t-shirts

I have to make a trip to the Mall later this morning and run other errands, as well. My tee is a black and white striped ON cap sleeve tee purchased last year and is one of my favorites...the stripes are smaller like the tee shown on the right side of the set. My shoes and belt are black patent. My handbag is from Liz Claiborne, but looks very similar to the Chanel bag in the set. My pants and scarf are from TJ Maxx and my earrings are from Target...they're similar to the ones shown, but also have white beads along with the black and gold. This is the first outfit I am considering wearing.

4.19.09 *Look 2*
4.19.09 *Look 2* by FFM featuring J Crew necklaces

My Mossimo jacket now has pearl buttons. The jeans do not have the belt on them, and the shoes are similar. I need to make a trip to the Mall and run errands...this is the second look I am contemplating.

The Metallic Silver shoe looks great with the really *brings out* both colors in it. The ruffle tank is a bit lighter IRL, and looks really cute peaking out of the jacket.

Inspiration: Words To Start Each Day...

I am capable.

I am worthwhile.

I am beautiful.

I am lovable.

I shall accept both my strengths
and my weaknesses for they are me.

I shall never again believe the lie that
if I make a mistake...I am a mistake.

My mistakes are the learning tools
that I shall encounter on my life journey.

When I learn from my mistakes.. I give them meaning.

When I give my mistakes meaning...I can begin to forgive myself. I begin to heal.

I shall not use my mistakes as excuses
to give up on me...
my mistakes are not me.

I shall seek the wisdom to nurture
my heart.. mind.. body and soul
so that I may feel more centered...

Providing an energy reserve that
allows me to climb the mountains in my own life.

Providing an energy reserve that
allows me to love and support others
who are climbing a different mountain.

Providing an energy reserve that
allows time for friends.. play
and celebration of life.

I shall allows myself to feel capable...
so that I may seek excellence.

I shall allow myself to feel sadness...
so that joy may return.

I shall allow myself to feel joy...
so that I may be revitalized.

I shall allow myself to feel afraid...
so that I may find courage.

I shall allow myself to feel alone...
so that I may know me.

I shall allow myself to feel beautiful...
so that I may feel free.

I shall allow myself to feel lovable...
so that the loving may seek me.

I shall allow myself to feel pain...
so that I may gently heal.

I shall allow myself to feel worthy...
so that I may fulfill my purpose.

I will look into the heart of a rose...
or the eyes of a newborn baby and know perfection.

I take responsibility for creating my own
life story through the choices I have made.

To blame others is to give away my personal power.
Without that...who will write the next chapter of my life?

I shall seek the courage to believe in
God or Higher Power... Who will laugh with me in the sunshine...and cry with me in the darkness.

I shall make a small difference in this planet...
through the work I do...when I leave I will have done my share.

I shall live... love... laugh...
and learn on my journey.

Today is the beginning.

Wearing Today: 4.9.09 by FFM on

I wore my ON Maxi Dress for the first half of the day at home, and then changed into this to take my 3 yr. old to therapy, and now I'm headed to my hair appointment. My jacket is actually from's a boy's jacket that I picked up for $24 in the store (can't find it online at Gap, but it is almost identical to the one from J.Crew except it has a zipper in front and no buttons). I have the belt on the outside of the jacket, too. My shoes are a similar pair that I found at Target for $4.98. The jeans were found at a 2nd hand boutique and do not have the belt on them like the pair that is pictured. :)

Fabulous *Rule of Thumb*

I want to share a Fabulous *Rule of Thumb* with all of you that I recently read on the What I Wore site. I really think it is such a great *rule* to go by:

*When shopping, I look at a garment and then decide how much I would pay for it. If its actual price is same or less than that number, cha-ching! She’s mine.*
-Jessica Schroeder

What do you think of this *rule*? Good idea? Is this already one of the rules you follow?

The boys and I were out of the house all day yesterday and this is what I wore. My 2 year-old had his Well Check at the Pediatrician's office and the doctor ran an hour late, so we spent almost 2 hours there...pretty frustrating. Afterwards we ate lunch out, looked for shirts for them for Easter Sunday, and ran our other errands. My bag and denim capris are similar to the ones in the set.

Hello J.Crew Spring Sale and Goodbye *For Now* J.Crew Final Sale

Finally...J.Crew stopped the dreaded Final Sale and is *introducing* the Spring Sale. I, for one, am absolutely thrilled, as I really dislike the fact that J.Crew implements Final Sale at all. I wish they wouldn't ever bring it back, but that's probably just wishful least it is gone for the time being, and J.Crew customers can now purchase risk-free once again. :)

How do you feel about Final Sale? Are you as thrilled as I am to see it gone, even if it is more than likely only temporary? Will you purchase more now knowing you can return your item if it doesn't work out for you?

Inspiration: Dare To Believe

Everybody Knows…

You can't be all things to all people.

You can't do all things at once.

You can't do all things equally well.

You can't do all things better than everyone else.

Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.

You have to find out who you are,
and be that.

You have to decide what comes first,
and do that.

You have to discover your strengths,
and use them.

You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of "being you."

You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.

You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.

You will have learned to live with your limitations.

You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due,
And you'll be a being that's vitally alive.

Dare To Believe…

That you are a wonderful, unique person.

That you are a once-in-all-history event.

That it's more than a right,
it's your duty,
to be who you are.

That life is not a problem to solve,
but a gift to cherish.

And you'll be able to stay one up on what used to get you down.

My Spring Cleaning not only benefited my husband, sons, and our home, but was also a time of refocus for me. I have felt renewed in my Body, Mind, and Spirit...I am determined more than ever to find the perfect balance in my life. I recently took a 5 day break from blogging, and limited my overall computer time, as well. I watched movies with my husband, took nature walks with my boys, created art projects with them, caught up on my reading, and spent time *just being*...almost like a *staycation*. I simply needed the break to focus on all the blessings in my life and be extra thankful for them. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone again, and I hope you all have a Wonderful and Extremely Blessed Week! :)
