J.Crew, Anthropologie, Gap, & LOFT Spotted In Women's Health Magazine

Happy Monday dear readers! I hope you are having a wonderful start to your week! I want to start off by saying THANK YOU for all of your comments the past several days...I do truly appreciate all of you taking the time to stop by, and I promise to respond later this afternoon/evening. We had an extremely busy week (I am homeschooling all 4 boys this year: 1 middle school, 1 kindergarten, 2 pre-k, and we began our school year this past Tuesday), followed by an equally busy/hectic weekend. Then today my 4 year-old has his visit at Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa (he has Cerebral Palsy), so we are now on our way over there for a good part of the day.  However, I do plan to leave you with a fun little post today. I know most of us enjoy spotting pieces from our much beloved brands in magazines, and I have several to share with you today. They are in the October 2010 Women's Health magazine in a section called "Weekend Update".

The first image features a J.Crew cardigan that looks very similar to the Merino Silvana cardigan in Bronzed Twig. (Please feel free to chime in if you recognize this one, and I'll update the post when I get home later today.) The model is also wearing the Gold Olive Ribbon Necklace from LOFT.

The next two images feature what I believe to be the Terrace House Jacket (in Orange) from Anthropologie.

In this image the model appears to be wearing the Whirlpetal Jacket, also from Anthropologie.

In this last image the model is wearing a GAP Hooded Jean Jacket (currently sold out) and carrying the J.Crew Waxed Canvas Tote

What do you think of the way the pieces are styled in the magazine? Do you own any of the items featured? Are any of them on your wishlist? Please do share! :)

Have a beautiful and blessed day! :)

  1. I would love to know where the olive green dress in the first picture is from. I love how that is styled. Any ideas?

  2. Great post! I especially love the first outfit. And to answer the previous post, the model is wearing a Marc by Marc Jacobs (which is a a great line!) dress:

  3. OK. I have to admit the white dog stole the show for me a bit:) Seriouly, have one and love a cute little white pooch:)

OK. For the clothes. Glad you are showing various companies and pieces. I think I am going to become and Anthro. fan after my sister. She has always been one and she said they have a no time limit on returning their clothes and that is how I need to shop--no time limit with my lifestyle. I own one Anthro. hat and kitchen items. No clothes so will have to change that soon!

Been a HUGE JCrew fan but with health issues I just don't have the luxury of meeting their new time limits for returns.

So I think your site will be one of my go to places as I branch out of my JCrew cocoon from the past 9 years and shop elsewhere.

Thanks for your blog. I really enjoy stopping by;)most every day.

Hope your 4 year old does well with his health trip today. (I know b/c I am dealing with something similar!)

    Take care.

  4. SUPERB Styling! The Model is adorable--pics are too cute!

  5. These are great pics:)

Sounds like you are a very busy woman!! thanks for stopping by my blog as well:)

    Happy Monday!

  6. Those smiling, fresh-faced photos are certainly reminiscent of the beloved Paris 07 JC catalog!

  7. Thanks for the Marc Jacobs tip! I love the color, but want a similar dress with straps.

  8. Hi FFM,

Love the Anthro golden color jacket.

I have another question. I remember reading in your blog a while back about taxes diff. between where you live and where the Anthro B&M store is located and you'll always lose some money (pennies, they may be) when you choose to return at those stores.

I recently found that issue with mine as well. I live in the suburbs of SF Bay area and go to Palo Alto and Burlingame stores. I realized lately my town has 9.5% taxes (for my Anthro online order - shipped here) and both of those store locations have slightly lesser % and starting to notice that my online return refunds are ALWAYS less than what Anthro online charges! I rememembered your post about it. Contacting Anthro's online CS wasn't helpful, as they kept saying the stores can change the tax amount and refund me (Store associates say that other store returns are automatically set to refund the different taxes paid, online orders can't be modified for refunds). Oh well...

Wondering if you always mail the items back, IF you choose to return any of the Anthro online orders.

    Thanks! :)

  9. Anon@8:44am and ThePhDWearsPrada: Thank you both so much for stopping by! PhD:Thank you for linking the March by Marc Jacobs dress! :)

  10. Anon@9:58am: Thank you for taking time to comment today. I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying my posts. I have just started shopping Anthropologie within the past year myself and have found numerous pieces from each season that I like. I think that a lot of the items compliment J.Crew pieces, so your new Anthro purchases should be easily incorporated into your current wardrobe. I also love the fact that they don't have a time limit on returns and appreciate that they stand behind their merchandise.

Thank you for the well wishes for my son. We had a good visit today, and as always, the staff at Shriners was excellent. :)

I also send well wishes to you for all that you are dealing with. Please take care of yourself. :)

  11. Agreed Hexicon! It's so nice to see healthy, happy, and smiling models. :)

  12. Hi anon@4:00pm! Yes, I do indeed have problems with the tax rate difference when making returns to the Anthro store. They have such a hard time *fixing* the tax difference in the store and it is a real pain to return anything to them and ask for the correct tax to be applied. Plus it takes them forever to figure out how to do it. One time the manager just put the total minus the tax back on my CC, and then paid me the tax back in cash.

However, the last time I made a return there I just told them not to bother with it because I was in a hurry, and figured that if I were mailing the items back it would cost me $5.95 anyways.

Now, if I know that visiting the store will result in another purchase, then I just opt to mail the return back and then I'm only out the $5.95 plus I saved gas money. HTH! :)

  13. Great post! I've never shopped Anthro, but I think I must start checking into it as I'm discouraged with J.Crew's return policy and declining quality (with the exception of the fanastic Arrow Sweater Jkt - fabulous!). Blessings to you on your homeschooling journey - I do the same (3 boys) and love most every day of it! Best wishes on your little guy's health issues - sounds like he's in good hands with a fantastic and dedicated mom!

  14. Thank you, FFM, for your response.
