Style Inspiration by FFM: *Cashmere and Leopard*

Hello Everyone and a very happy Saturday to you! I hope you had a fabulous week and are looking forward to an even better weekend. :) Today's post continues an already ongoing feature that I am now calling *Style Inspiration by FFM*, where I will post one of my Polyvore set designs and include links to items you can purchase to re-create the look if you so choose. Some of the set designs will be outfits I am wearing or have worn in the past, others will be *reader request* sets, and some will simply be outfits I would love to wear. (If possible I try to include a *real life* photo of me in the outfit if it's something I'm wearing at the time. Of course my schedule doesn't always allow time for snapping a pic, but it is definitely something I hope to include more of with this feature in the future.)

This is an outfit I will be wearing now since the weather is finally starting to cool down a bit: *Cashmere and Leopard*. I love everything about this look...the cashmere sweater, pearls, leopard bag, leopard ballet flats, and cropped flare jeans all create a comfortable, yet casually chic ensemble.

Cashmere and Leopard

Cashmere and Leopard by FFM

The Details:

My black cashmere sweater was purchased online at Lord & Taylor a couple of years ago. It has a v-neck, dolman sleeves, is super soft, and the quality is excellent. It's sold out now, but you can find similar options here, here, and here.

The J Brand Gigi Cropped Flare Jeans were my first purchase from Revolve Clothing, and they won't be my last. Revolve Clothing offers Free Shipping and Free Returns on all merchandise, not to mention the free shipping is super fast...gotta love that! As for the jeans...super cute! I love the slight flare on the leg...very flattering since they help to balance out the hip/thigh area.

My earrings are the Steel By Design Gold Hoop Earrings from QVC. They are not only lightweight and reasonably priced, but one of my staple wardrobe pieces, as well. (Similar here and here.)

The Pearl Twisted Hammock Necklace from J.Crew is sold out online now, but I believe some stores may still have it available. I've had this one since last year and it's one of my favorites...highly recommend if you can find one. Otherwise there are similar alternatives here and here.

My bracelet is the Kenneth Jay Lane Champs-Elysees Bracelet, also purchased from but sold out now. I've seen this one offered at, but it appears to be sold out there, as well. There are similar alternatives available such as this one, or this one.

My local Target finally restocked the Merona Oversized Gold Watch (only sold in stores) last week, so I was able to get one. It's "inspired" by the MICHAEL Michael Kors 'Goldtone Oversize Iconic' Chronograph Watch, only at a much more affordable price point (mine was only $12.99).

My handbag is the Leopard Flap-Pocket Tote from Talbots. I purchased this one with a great promo awhile ago, and it has quickly become one of my favorite handbags to carry. It is absolutely gorgeous IRL, the quality is excellent, the size is perfect (not too large, not too small), the printed haircalf is beautiful, and the design is a classic that will stand the test of time. Highly recommend this one if you're looking for an animal print bag this year. (Similar options here, here, here, and here.)

My Leopard-print Haircalf Ballet Flats are also from Talbots. I also purchased these on promo for a fantastic price and love them, as well. The sizes are very limited online, but you may be able to find them in a Talbots store or watch the website for a popback. If you are interested in a leopard-print haircalf flat but can't find the ones from Talbots, there are similar options available here and here.

My sunglasses were purchased from awhile can find similar options here (in black/gray combo) and here.

That's outfit that is *casually chic*, yet simple to put together and still very comfortable to wear. :)

Have a beautiful and blessed day!

  1. Love, love, love this look. Those flats went on crazy sale yesterday and sold out from under me, boo. Hoping to find them in store. Thanks for the tip on the RL ones as an alternative!

  2. I love the cropped flare jeans. I might give Revolve a try

  3. LOVE this casually chic outfit! How do the Talbots flats fit - TTS, comfortable, leather-lined? I am loving some things from Talbots but have not tried their shoes, so TIA! Have a wonderful weekend!

  4. FFM - OT question - I think I read a while back that you own the J.Crew matte jersey Curator Pant. Just curious about a few things: do you wear them frequently or are they "special occasion", do they run TTS, does the pleating add weight (I'm a 10/12 and don't really want excess weight - the pleats scare me a little but the matte jersey fabric I think can be drapey and sometimes forgiving), and do you think they are best suited for heels or can/do you wear them with ballet flats?? IF you have time to answer my many questions, I would really appreciate it! Thanks so much!

  5. Gorgeous outfit. So elegant and sophisticated.

  6. I love a leopard ballet flat! I have a J. Crew version, I will pull them out today. Thanks for the styling inspiration!

  7. Super cute! I only own leopard print flats and heels but would love to add a little more leopard into the mix! =)

  8. Hi ladies! Thanks for stopping by today and for all the lovely comments about the outfit! :)

Elizabeth in MO: I think the flats run just a tad bit small. I have been consistently wearing a 9.5 now, but the size 10 in these just fit me. The entire upper is made of leather and they are pretty comfortable...even more so if you add a gel insert. :)

On the Matte Jersey Curator pants: I wear mine on a casual basis, but usually with heels as I find them to be more flattering that way. The fabric is extremely comfortable, and I think they fit TTS/slightly big...I have the size 2, but could have worn the size 0 if I didn't want them as slouchy. I don't find them to add weight at all. I actually think they tend to be slimming on IRL, and are extra great to have on days I feel a bit chunky (they hide the thighs well). I wore them for a trip to Shriners Hospital on my son's last visit and posted a pic here. HTH! Let me know if you have any other questions! :)

  9. Thank you SO much for taking the time to respond to my many questions! I do think I will order the curator pants - I'm looking for something supremely comfortable yet chic for Thanksgiving - I host 30 people and want to be chic yet comfy and not in something I'm going to feel "overheated" in (i.e. wool pants) and NOT jeans! Thanks also for the info on the Talbots shoes - I'm looking at several of their cute flats. I appreciate all the help!

  10. Elizabeth: You're welcome...I'm glad to help! I think the Curator pants are a perfect choice for Thanksgiving. Let me know what you think of them when they arrive. :)

  11. Love the leopard. I checked three different Targets and couldn't find that watch: Sanford, Lake Mary and Red Bug. Can you email me and let me know which story locally carries it? Love it!
    My blog:

  12. Thumbs up! You can never go wrong with cashmere & leopard!

  13. Love this look! It helped me to get dressed today for a day of errands. I ended up wearing black v-neck cashmere sweater, a leopard scarf, J Brand skinny jeans, and tall black flat boots. :) I also ordered the Limited leopard purse with a 40% off coupon codes. Thanks a bunch for the inspiration!

  14. Love the outfit. Also wanted to mention that Target has a cute leopard haircalf sliver wedge for $24.99 (the Merona Marlis).

  15. Thanks itztru!

Robin: You're outfit yesterday sounds fabulous! I'm so glad my post *inspired* you. Congrats also on the leopard bag from Express. It sounds like you got a fantastic deal on it! :)

Danielle: Thanks! Thank you also for mentioning the leopard wedges at Target...what a great price! :)

    Have a great day ladies!
