To You From J.Crew: Free Shipping On Any Order!!!

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend, and that all you other mommies out there had a very Happy Mother's Day, as well. I was away from the computer most of the weekend spending time with my family AND even managed a solo trip to the mall yesterday afternoon...part of my Mother's Day treat. :)

As many of you may already now, J.Crew is offering Free Shipping with No Minimum on ALL ORDERS until 5.11.11...YAY!!! (Just enter code FREESHIP at checkout.)

While at the mall I stopped in at J.Crew to make a few returns and see some of the items I've been longing for on the website. I didn't end up purchasing anything, but did add a couple of items to my watch list. ;) I always find it so interesting how items can look so different IRL than they do online. Sometimes a piece can look fabulous online, but be absolutely horrible and disappointing IRL or it can look bad online and be really nice in person (hello Target and your horrible website photos). Since J.Crew is offering the Free Shipping/No Minimum promo, I thought I would write up a list of the pieces I saw IRL that I think are nice and worth considering if you are shopping the promo. :)

*Perfect Shirt in Casbah Paisley. Love this! It is absolutely lovely IRL and runs True To Size. I think it has more of a turquoise undertone to it in person, so if you look good in that color, this is one is for you.

*Perfect shirt in neon gingham. Love this one, too! I tried on the Neon Azalea and the color is TDF! So summery and cute! This one runs TTS, too.

*Madras Popover. I have this the colors and the plaid. You can't see it well in the online pic, but there is a line of golden yellow that runs through the plaid, so gold accessories look really cute with it. This is how I wore it back on 4.13.11:

*Katie Eyelet Cami. I only saw this in the white, but it was really cute AND on sale. A great piece to wear this summer with bermuda shorts or capris and a fab pair of sandals.

*Short-sleeve Selvedge Chambray Shirt. I pre-ordered this one after seeing it in the Spring 2011 preview and highly recommend it. It is made very well plus it goes with anything and everything. Sizing on this one runs big, so going down one size is probably the best option. I went with the XXSmall and normally wear an XSmall in button down shirts.

*Silk Blythe Blouse in Poppy. What a gorgeous color! The blouse feels wonderful on and runs TTS.

*Caroline Dress. I love this one. I didn't get the chance to try it on, but did see it in person...really lovely and appears to be decent quality, too.

*Linen Maddie Pant. I love these! I ordered the orange pair and would say they run TTS, slightly large. They have a higher waistline and wide-leg...very chic. The orange is very bright a safety-cone. The retail price is a bit high, IMO. I am returning and hoping to get them on sale.

*Shrunken Fisherman Sweater. This is really nice in person and runs TTS. I like all three colors. Definitely on my watch list.

*Icon Trench in Light Khaki. My store has never sold this, but I did pick one up earlier this year online and highly recommend it if you're in the market for a classic trench that will last for years to come.

*Lula Glitter Ballet Flats. My store didn't have these in, but I had ordered them last week to see in! Of course they are the focal point of any outfit, so keep the rest of your clothing basic when wearing them. For example, they look so cute worn with a basic white or light grey tee and pair of rolled up jeans or white bermuda shorts along with silver accessories.

*Casbah Scarf. This one comes in three colors and each is very pretty IRL. I think it may be a bit too heavy to be worn as a summer scarf (depending on where you live), but the colors will transition well into fall, so there will still be plenty of time to wear it. The jade color (same print as the Casbah perfect shirt) seems to be sold out online, but is still available in stores.

And here is what I wore for Lunch out on Mother's Day and then my shopping venture:

My dress is the Ella Moss for Piperlime Stripe Maxi Dress in Coastal Blue. I am absolutely in love with this dress! The color is gorgeous IRL and the dress is incredibly comfortable and flattering on. It has gotten rave reviews on the Piperlime website and justifiably so, IMHO. It runs TTS/slightly large depending on your bust size. This Coastal Blue has come back in stock a couple of times over the past several months, so if you're interested in grabbing one, keep checking the website everyday for a popback. :)

Are you planning on taking advantage of the Free Shipping/No Minimum at J.Crew? What items are on your list? Is there anything you have or have tried that you would like to recommend? Please do share! :)

Have a great day and Happy Shopping!

  1. Hi FMM
I love that maxi dress!! I pre-ordered it in the blue color and it got canceled so I tried the latte color. you are right - the fit is amazing!!! Truly the most flattering and comfy maxi dress I've ever tried on. I'm not positive about the color - I really wanted the blue so I'm glad to hear it pops back. I am going to keep the latte and try it on with a few different accessories - I'll probably keep it for it's sheer awesomeness and keep watching for the blue. Thanks for the review! :)

  2. Hi mack! I'm so glad you tried the dress! It is amazing! I actually saw the blue back online today in a size large and the other day in a size medium, but have seen it pop back in XS, and Small before, too. The popback can occur at anytime of the day, so bookmark the page and keep checking in. What size are you looking for?

  3. ohhh - I missed it. I'm looking for a large - but you have given me hope that it might pop up again. I'm bookmarking now :)

  4. Good luck mack! Be sure to let me know if you end up getting it! :)

  5. Hi FMM -
