Reminder: Google Reader Retiring Tomorrow (7.1.13) - Choose Another 'Following' Option Now

Just a reminder that Google is retiring their Reader as of tomorrow, July 1, 2013. This means that if you follow Fabulous Florida Mommy via Google Reader, you will need to switch to a different platform (if you have not already) to continue receiving blog updates.

From the information I've read, it appears that if you have a Blogger account, you can still continue to follow via Google Friend Connect, BUT if you don't have a Blogger account and you are currently using Google Reader, there are several other options that you can use to continue following me...

*Feedly - I just switched over to this on Thursday, and so far really like it. It's easy to switch all of your feeds over too...just sign into your Google account via Feedly, and your Google blog feed will be switched over for you. They don't have a social media button yet, but I will be sure to put it on the sidebar as soon as they do.

*Email: Just type your email address in the 'Follow by Email...' box in the right sidebar and click Subscribe.

Just a quick note to those of you who do follow via Google Friend Connect and have a Blogger account. I also follow a lot of blogs this way, but since there are a lot of varying opinions on whether or not it will still work tomorrow, (or also shut down like Google Reader), I have chosen to also follow those blogs using alternative options...just to be on the safe side. Something you might consider doing, as well. :)

On another note: in shopping-related news...

***Today is the last day to save an Extra 30% Off Promo-Priced and Sale items at J.Crew with code SUMMER30 at checkout. There were a lot of markdowns this week, and they have also done a 'switch-up' on the Promo-priced items have been marked to promo-price, while others have gone back to regular-price or marked down to sale price. Click HERE for the updated list of Promo-Priced Items & Summer Sale Markdowns.

Have a lovely day! :)

  1. I'm switched over to Feedly. It's taken a bit of getting used to, it's different from Google Reader. I can't quite figure out why some blogs update with new posts and others don't. All in all though, I think it will be a decent substitute.
